King Charles III became a grandad for the very first time when he was 65 years old, after the Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed their first child, Prince George.
The 73 year old is now a proud grandfather to five children – William and Kate's children, Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's two children, Archie, three, and one year old Lilibet.
Charles also has five step-grandchildren through his wife Queen Consort Camilla's first marriage to Andrew Parker-Bowles.
Camilla's son Tom, 47, is dad to Lola, 14, and Freddy, 12, while her daughter Laura, 44, is mum to Eliza, 14, and twins Gus and Louis, 12.
Here we take a look back at some of King Charles' best moments as a grandad…
Sitting with Prince Louis at Platinum Jubilee
During Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations back in June, the Royal Family headed to watch the Platinum Pageant in London.
The Princess of Wales, 40, sat alongside her youngest son, Prince Louis during the event but he soon became restless as he watched the performances.
Louis sweetly ran over to his grandad King Charles, who picked him up and put him on his knee so they could continue watching the pageant together.
A series of snaps of the pair showed them sharing sweet moments together as Louis danced at the event.
Gifts for Prince George
King Charles transformed a piece of land at the Balmoral Estate and named it after his eldest grandchild Prince George.
Explaining the thought process behind the sweet gesture, the doting grandad previously said: "This was a rather empty field that the farm didn't need anymore.
"The great thing was, I managed to plant it the same year that my grandson was born, the eldest, George. So, I thought I'd call it Prince George's Wood.
"It’s really for autumn colour and a bit of spring, but autumn is the magic up here. So finding all the interesting trees and shrubs that turn an interesting colour is half the battle."
For George's first birthday, his grandad surprised him with an £18,000 Wendy house complete with a wood-burning stove at Charles' Highgrove house.
Playing with his step-grandchildren
In a BBC documentary about the new monarch, King Charles could be seen sweetly playing with step-grandchildren out in the garden.
He spun his step-granddaughter around in circles as he joked around, showing his love for his family.
Camilla gave a rare insight into her husband's relationship with her grandchildren, saying: "He will get down on his knees and crawl about with them for hours, you know making funny noises and laughing and my grandchildren adore him, absolutely adore him.
"He reads Harry Potter and can do all the different voices and I think children really appreciate that."
Sweet photos with Prince Louis
A documentary was released to celebrate King Charles' 70th birthday in 2018, and it included a number of sweet photos of him with Prince Louis.
In one sweet picture, the monarch could be seen holding Louis' hand while the Princess of Wales holds onto him.
Another showed Charles beaming with pride as he held onto his grandson, who was a few months old at the time.
Happiness over Princess Charlotte
In 2015, Charles' first granddaughter Princess Charlotte was born and the 73 year old was delighted at her arrival.
At the time, he excitedly told a well-wisher: "I am thrilled. I was hoping for a granddaughter – someone to look after me when I am very old."
Reunion with Archie and Lilibet
King Charles' youngest two grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, live in America, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex opted to move to the US after stepping down from Royal duties.
While the doting grandfather doesn't get to see them as often as he would like, he did have an "emotional" reunion with three year old Archie earlier this year, and finally got meet one year old Lilibet for the first time.
Charles said he was "absolutely thrilled" to spend time with his grandchildren and catch up with Harry and Meghan.
