Queen Elizabeth II, the beloved head of the British royal family, passed away on Sept. 8 at her summer home in Balmoral Castle in Scotland. She was 96. Having taken over the throne as a 25-year-old in 1952, Her Majesty’s reign was the second-longest known for any world sovereign (and the longest-reigning British monarch.) Following her death, many celebrities and dignitaries around the world mourned.
