Larsa Pippen Admits to Being ‘Traumatized’ by Michael Jordan’s Comment on Relationship With Marcus

While the Trophy Room store founder finds his father’s reaction to a question about his relationship with Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife hilarious, the reality TV star thinks ‘there is nothing funny about it.’

AceShowbizLarsa Pippen has left feeling upset over Michael Jordan‘s comment on her relationship with his son Marcus Jordan. The reality TV star has admitted to being “embarrassed” and “traumatized” by the former NBA star’s apparent disapproval of the couple’s romance.

Larsa and Marcus addressed Michael’s short interview in a Monday, July 10 episode of their podcast “Separation Anxiety”. While the 32-year-old son of the basketball icon found his father’s comment hilarious, she thinks “there is nothing funny about it.”

“You thought it was funny,” Larsa told her beau Marcus during the episode, adding, “I didn’t think it was funny. There is nothing funny about it.” She shared, “… I kinda felt like it went everywhere and I was kind of embarrassed.”

Larsa was particularly upset because people thought she was lying when she said earlier in an interview that both her and Marcus’ families were in a great place. “It literally went everywhere,” she divulged. “I think people started to think that online they were saying that I was lying – that I lied and said that our parents are fine because I was doing interviews and saying both of our families are fine.”

“When I would say that, I felt like I didn’t embellish that…,” the 48-year-old went on arguing, “and I would say both of our parents want us to be happy… I do understand that it’s not awkward for us to be together because it’s us.”

Larsa realized that her romance with Marcus “probably is awkward” for Michael and her ex-husband Scottie Pippen due to the nature of their alleged feud, but she insisted that she and Marcus “weren’t a part of that.”

“But it probably is awkward for my ex [Scottie Pippen] and your dad because they have their own relationship or whatever it was. I wasn’t a part of that, you weren’t a part of that,” she elaborated. “So I feel like for them it probably is weird, it probably is weird for your dad. I can’t be mad. I understand… Oh my god, I was traumatized. I was like what are we going to do, people think I lied.”

Marcus went on clarifying on the podcast that his father texted him after his comment went viral. He said his father assured him that he did not mean any harm.

Michael was asked for a comment on his son’s relationship with Larsa when met by paparazzi in Paris earlier this month. When asked if he gave his approval for Marcus’ relationship with his much older girlfriend, who is the ex-wife of Michael’s former teammate Scottie, the former Chicago Bulls star simply replied, “No!”

In contrary to Michael’s comment, Marcus told ET that his family had gradually accepted his girlfriend after spending time together during the holidays. “Well, we spent some time together during the holidays. She came and visited some of my family, I visited some of her family, so I think that’s kinda what, once we realized our families were OK with it, then I feel like that was easier for us,” Marcus said.

The Trophy Room store founder continued, “We spent Thanksgiving together last year and, you know, my family loves her. They think she’s great. And ultimately, I think my family just wants to see me happy. And so as long as I’m happy, they’re happy with, you know, where I’m living.”

“Everybody had an opinion at first,” Marcus admitted, before adding, “I think there was some shock and interest early on, but I think that was the whole point of us trying to spend some family time together during the holidays.”

He continued, “At least for me, if we’re gonna be in the media, you know, I kind of need to introduce you to my mom and my mom’s side and my dad’s side. And so, I think that went well and so far, so good.” When asked if he got a stamp of approval from his dad, Marcus replied, “Yeah, oh yeah.”
