A friend of Lauren Goodger has said the reality star's daughter, Larose, has given her a "sense of purpose" after the death of her second child.

Tragically, it was revealed by the The Only Way Is Essex star, 35, that her new-born, baby Lorena, had died just two days after her birth.

Lauren announced the devastating news on Instagram, posting a picture of Lorena's tiny hand in hers.

She captioned the heartbreaking snap, writing: "She was the most beautiful healthy baby I’ve ever seen just like her sister Larose.

"Words can’t describe as a mother losing your baby that I carried for all these months perfectly and gave birth too for my angel to be taken from me."

She added: "There was no pregnancy or labour complications and she was fine & healthy but I am not going into detail right now just know that there was nothing wrong with her or myself she was perfect I can’t understand it she is so so beautiful Larose twin so similar.

"I am broken. I am back home from hospital Me & Charlie spent as much time with our baby girl Lorena and I haven’t said my goodbye yet."

Despite suffering unimageable pain, the TV personality was still able stay strong and celebrate her daughter Larose’s first birthday but she admitted the night before had ben an “emotional evening”.

She wrote: "Just wrapped @babylarose.x presents and my Lorena was with me in my heart the whole time with her candle lit… Very emotional evening for mummy. But can't wait to see my big girl in the morning".

As a birthday treat, Lauren and the girls’ father Charles Drury, 24, took Larose to a farm on Tuesday (19 July) to see the sheep and pigs and ride a mini train, much to the toddler’s delight.

Now a friend has opened up on how important the one year old is to Lauren, saying she "we’re so grateful she has another life".

The friend told the Mirror: "Thank God Lauren has had Larose to give her the sense of purpose she needs to carry on through such unimaginable pain.

"The birthday celebrations were kept intimate for the closest members of their grieving family."

They continued: "They are also planning a bigger party where they will welcome friends and other children over to celebrate Larose’s birthday, which Lauren started planning while she was still pregnant with Lorena.

"She’s a brilliant mum, and we’re so grateful she has another life – another human – to focus on, which means you can’t go to dark places. It’s heartbreaking. No parent should ever have to go through what she’s going through.”
