Les Dennis confirms Strictly 2023 appearance with cryptic post before deleting

Les Dennis seemed to confirm rumours that he could be set to join the Strictly Come Dancing 2023 lineup, as he took to Twitter this morning with a cryptic post mentioning the BBC show.

The former Family Fortunes presenter, 69, caused a stir as he shared an Apple Music playlist in view of his 131,000 followers in a now-deleted tweet seen by Express.co.uk.

The tweet, which was simply captioned “V”, featured a link to a playlist entitled “Strictly by Les Dennis”, consisting of 143 songs.

Express.co.uk has contacted representatives for Les and Strictly for comment.

The star, who was married to fellow TV icon Amanda Holden, quickly deleted the tweet without explanation, suggesting it may have been posted by mistake.

It comes following speculation that Les could be showing off his dance skills in the famous ballroom this year.

The TV presenter, actor and comedian has reportedly joined the star-studded list of contestants, according to The Mail on Sunday.

A source claimed: “The viewers are going to love Les. He is a TV icon and now he will be dancing on one of the most popular shows around.

“He might be about to turn 70 but he is a showman and he will be great entertainment for those watching at home.

“There is genuine excitement about Les taking part.”

Les was reportedly first approached by BBC bosses to take part in Strictly when he was portraying Michael Rodwell in Coronation Street.

However, the presenter is said to have turned down the opportunity at the time due to his busy schedule with the ITV soap, which he starred in from 2014 to 2016.

Les is currently starring in a touring production of West End musical 42nd Street, which means he is singing and dancing on a daily basis.
