Coleen Nolan has taken to Instagram to share a health update amid her recent skin cancer scare.

The Loose Women panellist, previously revealed that pre-cancerous growths had been found in her skin, but that they weren't currently "dangerous" because they had been "found it in time".

Opening up further about this, Coleen took to Instagram to share a video, in which she also encouraged her followers to get their own skin checked.

She began: "A few weeks ago I spoke about how I've been diagnosed with pre-skin cancer, nothing major, as you know is pre-cancerous and I need to treat it but at the moment it's fine."

Coleen continued: "I firstly want to thank all of you for your amazing messages. All incredible.

"But more importantly I want to say kind of how touched I was that a lot of you who've been sitting there worried about marks or scared or moles that weren't normally there, most of you went and got them checked.

"And I'd say a lot of you found out that it was nothing and you'd been worrying for nothing and then a vast majority went and it was basal cell carcinoma or melanoma.

"And I'm just so proud that you went because as you know by now there are things out there to help and the sooner I get it the better. So I just wanted to give a big thumbs up to all you guys that were brave enough to go and get checked out."

She finished by encouraging others who hadn't been checked to also go and do so, before adding that all was okay with her.

Fans were quick to share their support in the comments, with one writing: "Glad everything is good with you,love you on loose woman, got my vote for the NTA [fingers crossed emoji] crossed it your year [two heart emojis]"

"Well said ,glad everything is OK, you look amazing" added another.

During an appearance on Loose Women, Coleen opened up about the cancer revealing that she felt "guilt" over it and initially wanted to keep it a secret from her family to avoid adding to their worries.

Coleen has witnessed the devastating effects of cancer first-hand, losing her sister Bernie, who died from breast cancer 10 years ago, aged just 52.

Her older sister Linda, 64, is also currently battling an incurable form of the disease, receiving her diagnosis six years after their eldest sister, Anne, 72, revealed she had breast cancer.

The bubbly presenter said she was "sick of cancer" and her experience “seems like nothing compared to what my sisters have been through”.
