Loose Women’s Kaye Adams has revealed her “shock” after she found out she needed hearing aids in both ears, following concern from her family.

The panellist, 59, has previously shared her worries about her hearing on the ITV show, as well as having family members point it out to her.

As part of a feature for the programme, Kaye decided to go for a hearing test, but didn’t get the results she’d hoped for when she was told she’d need hearing aids in both ears.

While her left ear had a natural deterioration in her hearing, her right ear had a problem that stopped the sound reaching her inner ear properly.

The surprised star told audiologist Feraza Shraf: "I wasn't thinking of my left ear, that's for sure."

Kaye revealed the moment she had the devices fitted in a series of posts on Instagram.

She said: "Never thought I'd say I enjoyed an ear test but @ferazashraf made it easy and painless.

"Have to admit though his diagnosis was a shock though."

The star showed the moment the hearing aids were popped into each of her ears writing: "Now you see it… now you don't!"

The photo showed her completely invisible hearing aids which were hidden inside her ear and by her hair.

Kaye was alongside her Loose Women colleagues Katie Piper, Carol McGiffin, and Sunetra Sarker when she talked about the diagnosis on the show.

It comes after Kaye vowed that she will pay back her £400 energy grant during a discussion on the rising cost of living on a recent instalment of Loose Women.

Back in May, Chancellor Rishi Sunak detailed plans for each home in the country to receive £400 towards the cost, with the money not expected to be repaid.

However, Kaye expressed her plans to "absolutely" pay the money forward to an "appropriate charity".

Speaking to her fellow panellists, the television presenter said: "I mean, I'm not trying to be a smarty pants here, but if I get my £400 quid, I will absolutely be giving it back, or giving it to the appropriate charity."

Kaye continued: "I'm sure lots of people would do that if they're able to.

"And I'm not doing that to try to make anyone feel rubbish."

Her fellow panellist Nadia Sawalha echoed her sentiments, stating: "No, but if you don't need it, don't keep it."

Speaking about the grants, Kaye added: "Come October, there will be pressure on the Chancellor to do something else. I mean, this isn't going to be a once-off.

"You don't want to live crisis to crisis. You want to sit in place a system that is going to be there and is going to carry people through so that they can have some certainty, and it takes away the anxiety from many people."

Meanwhile, one viewer questioned Kaye's decision about her future grant, writing: "No one is seeing the £400, it's coming straight off your fuel bill. #LooseWomen."
