Love Island fans tuned in on Sunday night (6 August) to watch the explosive reunion as all 32 islanders reunited, but it wasn't long until viewers were left cringing in their seats.

Soon after Maya Jama introduced the four finalists from this year's summer series, things kicked off as a clip was replayed from the moment Ella Thomas returned from Casa Amor with Ouzy See on her arm.

The clip showedTyrique Hyde, who is now in a relationship with Ella, standing awkwardly at the fire pit in disbelief and went on to announce their relationship was over – little did he know they'd end up finishing in the final four of the series.

Fans were left stunned at the clip shown so quickly on in the show, which left Ella and Ty looking more than uncomfortable.

One viewer said: "why would they make ty see this again", alongside two crying emojis.

While another added: "Lol Ella is not happy about that being brought up."

"Ty and Ella are pissed they’re making them watch this lol", a third said.

Another viewer said: "Ty and Ella having flashbacks having to see that clip again lmaooo."

"Yeah Ty & Ella are arguing tonight after this", noted a viewer.

While another had a similar thought and said: "Did they really have to bring up the ouzy clip again? you know ella and ty are gonna be arguing about this on the ride home."

One fan added: "Lol are they ever gonna let Ella and Ty be."

Before heading into Casa Amor Ella, 23, and Tyrique, 24, were the only couple who had been closed off.

The pair had decided it was time to close the door while they were on a date just days before the biggest relationship test.

The move came after Tyrique had been getting to know other girls in the villa and even admitted to missing the game – because it was the first time he had experienced something so serious.

But after closing things off, Tyrique was doing his best to embrace the feelings, and while Ella was away he released just how strong those feelings are.

So much so that he spoke to the boys about telling Ella exactly how he felt when she returned.

However, when Ella returned with Ouzy, 28, Tyrique told Ella that things were over between the pair.

Ella did tell host Maya Jama that she thought Tyrique may have missed the game while she was away but she didn't think things were over between the pair.

While it was one of the most dramatic recouplings to date, it turned out to be just a minor hiccup in the road and the pair managed to resolve things, recouple and finished the show as finalists.

And it looked like they got over the awkward start to the reunion show pretty quickly as they were later cosied up, giggling together while talking to Maya about their experience as a happy couple.
