Love Island fans were left confused as 2022 winners Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti appeared to "get engaged" during their romantic trip to Rome, Italy.
The 27 year old Italian stallion presented his Turkish girlfriend, also 27, with a stunning ring as they enjoyed drinks on a rooftop terrace in the city of love.
Ekin-Su responded with a goofy grin as she beamed in excitement to receive the sparkler.
Davide had teased his followers that there seemed to be something "missing" from the actress's hand, as he gushed over them spending their first festive period together.
“Our first Christmas together and our first time in Rome together …" Davide captioned the post. "It was missing something on that hands tho.”
In the video, Davide could be seen pulling the dainty but gem-filled ring out of a small box as someone else filmed them in the background.
He also gave the brunette beauty a box full of presents, as she giggled away at all the sweet gifts.
In response to the ring however, Ekin-Su was visibly taken-aback as she stared at the jewel in the night sky.
"Wow… that's so nice," she smiled.
The pair then kissed romantically, and Davide paired his video with a classic Italian romance song.
Flocking to the comments in shock, the star's followers, who are already gearing up for more Love Island drama in the winter edition next year, couldn't believe what they were seeing.
"Can I assume its NOT an engagement ring????" one fan demanded.
Another person asked: "Wait is this a proposal???"
"Is this an engagement or not?! I can’t tell mom and dad, help us," a third begged.
While a fourth commented straight away that the piece of jewellery was clearly a promise ring instead.
"Is this an engagement??? Or a promise??? Can I get more context!? Hello?" another fan wondered, but others seemed to have the situation worked out.
"Omg i thought this was something else and almost had a heart attack hope you both have a gorgeous first christmas together," one follower wrote, followed by: "Listen if it was a proposal we know Davide would have gone all out.
"I'm assuming he's just locking it in with a promise ring!"
