Love Island star Ollie Williams has been rushed to hospital following a harrowing balcony fall that left him in intensive care.

The 23 year old star, who appeared in the 2020 edition of the ITV dating show before memorably walking out mid-series, shared an update with fans on social media as he posted from his hospital bed, one week on from falling several feet from a balcony.

He wrote: "I wasn’t really prepared to post this until I was out of the woods proper, which I now think I am (hopefully!).

"I fell off a balcony last weekend and ended up in intensive care with a broken pelvis, wrist and internal bleeding."

Sharing a selfie from his hospital bed, a badly injured Ollie could be seen with a cut above his eyebrow, and a a heavily bandaged hand, while he tucked into a hospital meal for the occasion.

Giving his fans two thumbs up, the star still managed to crack a smile as he documented his recovery, which he acknowledged himself would be a tough road ahead.

In another photo taken from the hospital, Ollie could be seen spending time with his family while seated in a wheelchair, as he began the gruelling rehab process until his body healed.

During the update, Ollie revealed he had undergone surgery to treat his injuries, with his partner Laura Ofner by his side every step of the way.

Paying tribute to her support, he wrote: "With the incredible support of @lauranofer, my family and friends and some great surgeons; I’m on the mend.”

"Tough rehab ahead but I am confident along with my doctors I will make a full recovery."

Ollie also added: "I really couldn’t have dealt with this mentally without all of your messages of support, so thank you.”

After hearing of the news of his accident, a number of Ollie’s famous friends expressed their concern for the star, with fellow Lover Islander Charlie Brake writing: "Get well soon bud x."

Ben Hughes, the brother of Love Island's Chris Hughes also weighed in as he commented: “Hope you’re mending well buddy!!! You take care!!”
