Madonna celebrates 40th anniversary of her first album
Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, pop icon Madonna addressed the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine during her Celebration World Tour kickoff at London’s O2 Arena.
Last Saturday, Hamas launched an aggressive invasion into Israel from Gaza, resulting in significant casualties among both soldiers and civilians.
In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a series of retaliatory airstrikes on Gaza.
The Israel Defense Forces have since initiated localized raids into Gaza, suggesting a potential larger-scale ground invasion.
Speaking to her fans in London, Madonna expressed her deep concern over the situation stating:”What’s happening in Israel and Palestine breaks my heart. Seeing children and the elderly suffer is heartbreaking.
“Though our hearts are broken, our spirits cannot be.”
This comment comes five days after Madonna condemned a terror attack near the Iron Wall between Israel and Gaza, where Hamas fighters targeted a peace gathering, resulting in the death of at least 260 attendees.
Madonna, a follower of the Kabbalah tradition and a frequent visitor to Israel, underscored the gravity of the situation by asking her audience to imagine themselves in the shoes of the affected families.
In addition to addressing the geopolitical situation, Madonna shared personal challenges, revealing a recent health scare that nearly cost her life.
