Masked Singer fans ‘rumble’ Otter’s identity as Bake Off star after guinea pig clue

Fans of The Masked Singer are convinced that they have rumbled Otter's identity after a "giveaway" Guinea Pig clue.

Viewers of the show think that Otter's true identity is Great British Bake Off's Mel Giedroyc, 56, but there's no telling whether or not they're right yet.

The viewers, audience and judges were impressed by Otter's latest performance over the weekend, as the mystery person sang Dolly Parton's iconic hit 9 to 5.

Otter's true identity was not instantly discernible to the show's judges, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross, who guessed it could be Zoe Wanamaker, 73, Miranda Hart, 50, Catherine Tate, 53, and Fiona Shaw, 63.

But it was the Otter's backing dancer that was dressed as a guinea pig that had some fans of the show convinced it could be GBBO's Mel, who owns an award-winning guinea pig.

One person tweeted simply: "Beaver is Mel G from Bake Off," whilst another wrote: "It's Mel G #maskedsingeruk #themaskedsingeruk."

A third said: "All I’ve got for [otter] is that it’s someone who can’t see in that outfit so played to the wrong camera the whole time #MaskedSingerUK that is a youngish person or at least someone with a young spirit. Mel G might be a good shout!"

Another person tweeted: "Clues for Mel G as Otter. Strange hamster/guinea pig showing up… She shows guinea pigs (as an adult), she talked about her Exotic Sandwich task from TaskMaster… It's gotta be."

There were many other theories as to Otter's identity, with some people thinking it could be EastEnders' Josie Lawrence, who played Amanda Best in the soap.

Others guessed that it could be former Love Island alum-turned theatre star Amber Davies, who recently starred the West End production of 9 To 5.

Another guess is English actress and writer Daisy May Cooper.

One of the show's hosts, singer Rita Ora, 32, recently finally confirmed her marriage to movie director boyfriend, Taika Waititi, 47.

She announced the happy news during an appearance on Heart Radio Breakfast on Friday morning to promote her latest single You Only Love Me.

"Yes [I am married]," she beamed as she spoke to hosts Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden. "I am officially off the market people. I chose to keep it more private and keep it to myself more but with my new video I am playing on what could have been."

"When the rumours came out is she, isn't she? I wanted to play on it," the Love You Love Me singer admitted. "I wanted to do a wedding that didn't go to plan… that's not to say that is actually what happened."

Gushing about tying the knot to her Oscar-winning partner, Rita said: "It was perfect. It was exactly, exactly how I wanted."
