Mo Gilligan, 34, presented the Brit Awards and couldn’t help but take a swipe at the MP, who recently came third on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and will appear on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins later this year.

Gilligan told the O2 Arena crowd: “I’ve had a word with security, do not worry, Matt Hancock will not be here but you’ll catch him on some show.

“He’ll be on Casa Amor tomorrow night,” he quipped in reference to Love Island’s infamous challenge.

Hancock’s stint in the Australian jungle on the ITV reality show earned him £320,000 last year, of which £10,000 was donated to charity.

He also recently appeared in the audience of Dancing On Ice alongside his girlfriend Gina Coladangelo.

He resigned as health secretary after CCTV exposed him kissing his former aide while Covid social distancing guidelines were being followed in England.

Elsewhere at the Brit Awards 2023, Harry Styles won big collecting awards for Song of the Year, Best Artist, Best Pop/R&B act and Best Album.

In his first acceptance speech, Harry thanked his fans before adding: “I have so many wonderful memories at the Brits so thank you for another one. It is so good to be home.”

Then while accepting the gong for Best Artist, he added: “I want to thank my family for being the most supportive, understanding, patient, loving family I could have ever asked for.

“I want to thank my mum for signing me up for The X Factor without telling me, so I literally wouldn’t be here without you.

“I want to thank Niall, Louis, Liam and Zayn because I wouldn’t be here without you either. Thank you so much.”

In an apparent reference to the online backlash to comments he made at the Grammys last weekend, he added that he was “very aware of my privilege up here tonight”.

Beyonce also walked away with two awards, one for Best International Artist and another for International Song of the Year.

The pop superstar was not present but in a video message said: “Thank you so much for this incredible recognition” before thanking her fans and adding: “The renaissance begins.”

She also said that her hit Break My Soul was about “freedom and individuality”.

The fashion stakes were high on the night, with plenty of stars opting for show-stopping looks.

Sam Smith donned a bizarre latex jumpsuit that was inflated on the knees and shoulders, resembling a balloon.

There were also plenty of scantily-clad stars on the red carpet, including Scottish singer Tallia Storm who wore just a pink bikini with a fur coat and matching boots.

Salma Hayek was also in attendance and nailed biker chic in a busty leather dress with fishnets and platform boots.
