‘I’m not going to lie, when I got to the ninth paint sample, I did wonder whether Stuart might start regretting the marriage proposal but hey, I’m pretty sure he knows what he’s in for.

‘We’re going for a neutral wall colour and adding little personal touches with pictures, toys and accessories. I’m sure Stuart will be glad to never see another paint sample again.’

Mollie revealed that she and Stuart were expecting a baby girl last month, as she shared that their baby was due on November 2.

She told Grazia: ‘It feels weird to be saying this because we’ve only just told the family, but we’re actually having a little girl!

‘Having got five nephews, we were convinced we were going to be having a little boy as well, but we’re over the moon to find out it’s a little girl.

‘We would have been happy either way obviously and I just want her to grow up knowing that she can be exactly who she wants to be. I want her to know that the things that she goes to bed dreaming of can come true.’

The star also took to Instagram at the time to share heart-warming footage of the moment she and Stuart learned that they were having a daughter.

Mollie uploaded the clip of herself in a figure-hugging powder blue dress as she stood with her husband-to-be either side of a large black balloon. As they burst the ‘Boy Or Girl’ balloon, pink confetti rained down on them.

Mollie wrote alongside the video: ‘Last weekend we got our families together for a little celebration that we’ll never forget.

‘For months our families have been predicting and guessing the gender of the baby but it’s been so lovely to have that just between us.

‘Our due date is really creeping up now, we can’t believe how close it is, so last weekend felt like the right time to get everyone together and reveal it. It was such a special day and one we’ll always remember. So… we’re having a….’

The Radio 1 presenter recently admitted having a baby was something she had ‘wanted for a really long time’.

Mollie said she felt ‘incredibly lucky’ to be pregnant and predicted her sportsman fiancé will be ‘such a good dad’.

The presenter also revealed she and Stuart have made the decision to postpone their wedding so their baby can be involved in the nuptials, which they feel will be ‘really special’.

Speaking in an interview with Fabulous magazine in October, Mollie said: ‘It’s something we’ve wanted for a really long time.

‘I wouldn’t say I’ve always been broody, but I have always wanted a family. It’s been about the right person and the right time.

‘I have five nephews and I absolutely love looking after them, which is what made me feel this is what I want. We’re feeling incredibly lucky. I know Stuart’s going to be such a good dad – he’s so excited.’

Mollie said she and Stuart, who got engaged in January 2021, are ‘juggling a lot’ and trying to move house, so have taken a step back from wedding planning for the time being.

She explained: ‘I’ve always dreamed of my wedding day. But with all of this going on, it’s, ‘Right, we will do that, but later on’.

‘We are juggling a lot at the moment. We’re trying to move house as well. It would be nice to have the baby there, too. That’d be really special.’

The former pop star also opened up on her pregnancy cravings, explaining while she usually is ‘quite healthy’ with her diet, she was wanting ‘pizza, garlic bread and jacket potatoes’.

Although the mother-to-be initially experienced morning sickness and pregnancy anxiety, she said she was feeling ‘pretty normal’ but ‘definitely more tired’ as her due date approached.

Mollie explained she embraced her changing shape over the past few months, enjoying seeing her figure transform from ‘tomboyish and athletic’ to curvaceous as the weeks of her pregnancy progressed.

The TV and radio presenter said she was in ‘nesting’ mode as she looked forward to her bundle of joy arriving, and was happily turning the spare bedroom in the couple’s London flat into a nursery for their baby.

Stuart ruled himself out of the England cricket team’s Test Match series this winter to spend time with Mollie and the couple’s baby.

Mollie and Stuart first met through mutual friends in 2012, but didn’t get together until March 2018.

The couple briefly split five months later, but were spotted together again in February 2019, and confirmed they had reunited the following month.
