Molly Rainford reveals intimate details on Strictly romance with Tyler West

Singer and actress Molly Rainford has opened up to OK! about her romance with fellow Strictly Come Dancing star Tyler West, revealing that their relationship didn’t start how “everyone thinks” it did.

Molly, 23, rose to fame at the young age of 11, and since then she has gone on to show she is not only amazing at singing and acting, but also dancing – after finishing as a runner-up in last year's Strictly.

After first meeting Tyler when they both featured as dance contestants on the BBC show, they are now in a blossoming relationship – which she's explained actually started out as just friends.

Although Tyler left the competition in seventh place following a dance-off with his now girlfriend, there is clearly no bad blood.

Revealing details on her romance, she told us: “Everyone thinks that we got together on the show, but we didn’t, it kind of happened after but what’s so lovely is that we kind of built a little friendship and because we were all going through such a mad experience together, it was nice to have a group of peers that were all in the same boat”.

EastEnders star Molly continued: “I think because it stems from such a cool friendship into something more, that’s what makes it so cool. He's a good boy. I'm very lucky.”

Discussing this year’s series, she said she is not surprised that her EastEnders co-star Bobby Brazier is doing well in the competition. She said: “I knew from the off. He's got lots of charisma and I knew he was gonna smash it.”

Although Molly enjoyed being part of Strictly and enjoys watching reality TV, there's one show she isn't "allowed" to take part in – and that's I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

“I feel like it's a really great show. I was told by my nan that I'm not allowed to do it, but maybe I could persuade her, but I probably be the hysterical one that, you know, cries and screams”, she laughed.

If Molly seems to be the girl that does it all, it's because she literally does. Most recently Molly teamed up with Always and headed into a London school to host an Always Period Prep School event, which focused on educating and preparing young girls for their cycle.

The event kicked off with an informative discussion between Molly and Dr Aziza about the physical and emotional changes, as well as tips and tricks, before taking part in discussion workshops.

“I think that's the whole importance of this campaign is people okay with talking about it and not feeling like it's a taboo subject that no one else goes through, but me," she said.

“I wish I had an opportunity to talk about it a bit more in school when I was younger because I think that would have absolutely helped me prepare so much more and just feeling like, less overwhelmed about kind of hitting puberty and going through those changes.”

Molly went on to say that she feels “very lucky” that she has a platform to reach many people and said it was “important” to share her experience.

She said: “I think I was so lucky that I have kind of grown up, doing what I love and being a part of some TV shows that hopefully, the students had watched. And I thought that it was really important to show you that and share my experience with them.”

“I'm very lucky that I've got the platform that I've been given. So it felt like it was only right to kind of use that to raise awareness for topics, especially something like, you know, women's periods that literally half the population goes through every month”.
