More than a third of Brits now think less of Prince Harry amid book bombshells, poll finds

One in three British people say they have a less favourable view ofPrince Harry now than compared to a year ago, according to a new poll.

A survey conducted on behalf of GB News found that 38% of Brits – more than a third – had changed to a more unfavourable opinion of the Duke of Sussex.

The poll, carried out by People Polling, found that only 9% now have a more favourable opinion of the 38 year old royal.

Another third of the public – 38% – said they had not changed their views on Harry.

The poll also found that only one in 10 people aged 18 to 24 had developed a more favourable view of the Duke over the last year – contrary to the argument that Harry andMeghan Markle, 41, have cut through with the younger generation.

And 23% of this age bracket said their opinion had become less favourable – while 37% said their views had not changed at all.

The poll surveyed 1,269 people. Professor Matt Goodwin, a polling expert, said: “This year has been a disaster zone for the Harry and Meghan brand in the UK. They have lost the British public and are now among the most unpopular royals, eclipsed only byPrince Andrew.

“Here, we see that a plurality of voters have become less favourable of Prince Harry over the last year, a year which has seen the Netflix documentary and ongoing drama in the House of Windsor.

“It is now clear from an array of polling data that Prince Harry has lost considerable support among the British public –and may never be able to recover it in the years ahead.”

The findings come ahead of the release of Harry’s new memoir,Spare, on 10 January. Leaked extracts have revealed explosive allegations – including the claim thatWilliam, 40, attacked Harry in a row over Meghan Markle.

According to an extract obtained byThe Guardian, William is alleged to have called Meghan "difficult, "rude" and "abrasive" during a confrontation between the two brothers at the Duke’s Nottingham Cottage home in 2019.

Harry reportedly claimed the confrontation became physical, with William grabbing him by the collar and knocking him to the floor.

Harry also reportedly claimed that the Prince andPrincess of Wales encouraged him to wear hisinfamous Nazi uniform to a 2005 fancy dress party.

Ahead of the book's release, Harry is set to appear on ITV on Sundayfor a sit-down interview with News at Ten journalist Tom Bradby, a former royal correspondent and friend of the couple.

Tom previously interviewed the Sussexes together for a documentary about their2019 Africa Tourand was the first journalist who Meghan opened up to about hermental health struggles.
