Netflix viewers were left extremely disappointed after the streaming giant announced that it would be axeing a beloved comedy after just five seasons.
The popular programme, Disenchantment, is now set to come to a close after its next 10 episode run.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Netflix released a first-look trailer for the show as well as confirming it would be the final edition to be seen on screens.
The show, written by creator of The Simpsons and Futurama, Matt Groening, became an instant hit after its debut on Netflix in 2018.
Set in the medieval fantasy kingdom of Dreamland, the series follows the story of Bean, a rebellious and alcoholic princess, her naive elf companion Elfo, and her destructive ‘personal demon’ Luci.

Four batches of 10 episodes have so far been released for a total of 40 episodes.
The first part debuted in August 2018, the second in September 2019, the third in January 2021, and the fourth in February 2022.
A fifth and final part is now set for release on September 1, 2023.
The teaser for the fifth and final season suggests that the programme will finish with an epic battle as Bean and friends take one last trip together.
They will be stopped in their tracks by the evil Queen Dagmar, whom Bean must go up against in order to keep everyone safe and protected.
Commenting on the show’s end, one fan said: ‘On the one hand, I’m curious to see how it ends, on the other… that means I gotta go back and rewatch 1-4 haha.’
As another penned: ‘I mean, I didn’t expect Disenchantment to go on for too many more seasons. But I am kinda sad that it’s already coming to an end.’
A third added: ‘I want to cry that it is the end but this is my comfort show’

The voice cast for the series includes: Abbi Jacobson, Eric Andre, Nat Faxon, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille, Richard Ayoade, Matt Berry, Noel Fielding, Meredith Hagner, David Herman, Sharon Horgan, Maurice LaMarche, Lucy Montgomery, and Billy West.
West, whose credits include Futurama, The Howard Stern Show, The Ren & Stimpy Show and the 1996 film Space Jam, has also been featured on Disney’s Big City Greens in recent years.
The official synopsis for season five reads: ‘It all endeth here. The misadventures of hard-hitting, hard-drinking Queen Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo and her personal demon Luci culminate in an epic battle for Dreamland in the fifth and final installment of Matt Groening’s comedy fantasy series Disenchantment.
‘To save Dreamland from Queen Dagmar’s wicked rule, Bean must vanquish her mother and outrun a prophecy that foretells she will kill someone she loves.
‘The stakes are as high as ever as our heroes face Satan, a headless corpse, an evil scientist and most terrifying of all- their true destiny.’
