One Direction fans left crying as Liam Payne praises Harry Styles over Grammys win

After nabbing not one, but two accolades at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards this weekend, chart-topper Harry Styles received huge amounts of praise from his former bandmate Liam Payne.

The As It Was hit-maker and former One Direction star, 29, collected the top prize – Best Album – at the ceremony for his third album Harry's House, before Liam posted a sweet tribute on Instagram.

Alongside a black and white photo of pal Harry standing on-stage at Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena and holding his trophy in his hands, Liam, 29 wrote: "Wow… this image is really something to wake up to.

"And when you write music like you do Harry you deserve every millisecond of that moment looking down smiling at the trophy you’ve earned."

Liam added: "God bless you brother congratulations."

One Direction fans couldn't get enough of Liam's sweet post, with one commenting: "I AM CRYING."

"Get back, you all. Make music TOGETHER!" another pleaded.

"SCREAMING PLZ IM HAVING HEART ATTACK" a third continued, whilst another wrote: "THIS ISN'T REAL STOP RIGHT NOW."

Another joked: "Who’s cutting onions?"

Whilst they were at their peak of stardom, One Direction – who were formed on The X Factor back in 2010 – went on an "indefinite hiatus" in 2015 following Zayn Malik's decision to leave the group.

In the years that followed, members of the band – which also consisted of Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan – have rarely been spotted together.

Harry, who has since released three albums and featured in numerous Hollywood movies, appears to have remained good pals with ex-bandmate Niall, with the pair being spotted together at the 2020 Brit Awards where Harry was nominated.

Liam, on the other hand, is good mates with Louis, with the pair having appeared on a Gogglebox special episode for Stand Up To Cancer together.

Sadly, he admitted in 2019 that he wouldn't know what to say to Harry if he came across him again.

He previously told The Face: "There’s so much mystery around who he’s [Harry] become. I was looking at some pictures of him the other day, and I just thought, I don’t know what more I’d say to him other than, 'Hello' and 'How are you?'"

2020 saw the band's official Twitter, Instagram and YouTube accounts post an image with the words "10 Years of One Direction", as well as the caption "Tomorrow! You and me got a whole lot of history #10YearsOf1D" in anticipation of their tenth anniversary.

Liam, Harry, Niall and Louis also posted on their individual social media pages, thanking their loyal fans and all five initial members for their support, but there is no promise of a reunion.
