Patsy Kensit splits from fiancé Patric Cassidy after whirlwind romance… after he ‘snatched her engagement ring from her finger during row’
Patsy Kensit has split from her property tycoon fiancé Patric Cassidy, it has been confirmed.
The actress, 55, announced her whirlwind engagement to Patric, 56, in September but she decided to cool things off and concentrate on work.
Businessman Patric was said to have popped the question within weeks of their first date but she was reportedly left ‘visibly distressed’ at a charity event last month when Patric snatched her diamond engagement ring from her hand during a row.
A spokesperson for Patsy told The Sun on Sunday: ‘I can confirm they have split, and would appreciate that she is given her privacy regarding the matter. She is currently very busy working.’
An insider added to the publication: ‘The whirlwind romance has come to a halt and the couple have decided to go their separate ways.

‘They have a lot of love for one another, but ultimately, she knew that they couldn’t make it work in the long-term so felt it was best not to move forward with their relationship.
‘Patsy has lots of exciting work opportunities at the moment, and she is throwing herself into her career.’
It comes after Patric allegedly snatched her engagement ring away from her during a furious row at a charity ball.
Patric was said to have also thrown a bag at her while the pair were at the event.
The argument was said to have taken place last month at the Nuthurst Grange Country House Hotel in Solihull, West Midlands, when Patric allegedly ‘flew into a rage’ in front of guests.
An onlooker told The Sun at the time: ‘He snatched her engagement ring from her finger, as well as her watch and handbag.
‘Patric threw her handbag back at her chest. He then stormed off. She looked visibly upset and distressed. Patsy didn’t seem to know what she had done wrong.’
Patsy’s representative declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline. MailOnline contacted Patric.

Meanwhile, Patric has been branded a ‘love rat’ by an ex-girlfriend who is claiming she was with the businessman right up until he proposed to the former Emmerdale star.
Julia Simons, 39, told The Sun that she was dating the tycoon before being cut-off around the time of the announced proposal, and has hopes that his new flame will ‘see him for what he truly is’.
The news came shortly after the shocking engagement news, which reportedly followed on from a whirlwind five-week romance.
Patsy’s ‘whirlwind’ engagement to Patric, who she was introduced to through mutual friends, was announced in early September, with a friend telling The Sun that they were ‘smitten’.
‘Both Patsy and Patrick are smitten, and it just feels very right. He popped the question at Scott’s in London.
‘And after she celebrated they took over the bar at the nearby Connaught hotel and bought the whole room Cristal champagne.
‘They’ve only officially been together a matter of weeks but Patsy is going with her heart,’ explained the pal.
The former singer is well-known for her somewhat entangled love life, after saying ‘I Do’ four times before.
Patsy, who first got married in 1988 when she was 22, is divorced from Dan Donovan, from 1980s pop group Big Audio Dynamite, Simple Minds front man Jim Kerr, Oasis singer Liam Gallagher and, most recently, Nineties DJ Jeremy Healy.
Her most high-profile relationship with Oasis’ Liam resulted in her third marriage, which saw them part ways in 2000 – but as share son Lennon, 22, together.
While Patsy is also mother to son James, 28, from her second marriage to Jim Kerr, which ended in 1995.
