Prince Harry to do his first UK interview in years to promote upcoming memoir

Prince Harry is set for his first British interview with friend and journalist Tom Bradby to promote his new memoir in what's thought to be his first British interview in years.

The Duke of Sussex’s book is set to hit shelves next month following the release of his and wife Meghan Markle’s tell-all Netflix docuseries.

In light of his strained relationship with the British media, Harry, 38, is thought to have not spoken to the press on this side of the pond in some time, but will now reportedly sit down with ITV’s Tom ahead of his book’s release.

Tom is the same journalist who famously asked Meghan, 41, if she was okay during an interview with the Duchess in 2019. Their chat featured on the couple’s recent docuseries.

Meghan labelled their chat as a “huge turning point” for her.

She says on Harry & Meghan: “There is only so much you can take on your own, so you end up saying ‘Something has to change’. It was a huge turning point. It was when we started having harder conversations about what needs to happen for us to be able to continue to make this work.”

Shortly after the interview aired, #WeLoveYouMeghan began to trend on social media.

“I was just really grateful that someone seemed to ask me something like I was a human being,” the Duchess added of her discussion with Tom.

In light of the positive response Meghan got from her chat with the journalist, Harry’s now sitting down with him once more, The Times reports.

The Duke is also set to sit down with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

The Palace are now bracing themselves for more “truth bombs” as the book is expected to highlight Prince Harry’s upbringing as a senior royal.

Tom became known to Duke and his brother Prince William when they were teenagers during his time as a royal correspondent in the 1990s.

At the time of his chat with Meghan in 2019 when he was following the royal pair around Africa on their tour of the country, Tom labelled them as looking “bruised and vulnerable”.

“We had a pretty long chat, and I speak to Harry relatively often and have done over the years,” he added at the time, as per Mail Online.

“I knew things weren't entirely brilliant behind the scenes, [but] it built as the tour went on. I was just observing.

“As time wore on, I began to really get a sense of where he was at.”
