Priscilla Presley’s tragic conversation with Lisa Marie days before death

Lisa Marie Presley died in January this year aged 54 from a small bowel obstruction caused by a previous weight loss surgery, with opioids being found in her blood at the time of her death.

Speaking in a new interview, her mother, Priscilla Presley, detailed her final memories with her only daughter.

Priscilla admits “something was not right” in the days leading up to her death, recalling a catch-up at Chateau Marmont to celebrate Austin Butler’s Golden Globes win for playing Elvis.

Lisa made her final public appearance at the Golden Globes on January 10 alongside her mother, just days before her death.

Priscilla recalled to The Hollywood Reporter: “Then we sat down and ordered drinks, and she said, ‘Mom, my stomach hurts really bad.’ We immediately got up and left.”

Just two days later Lisa’s ex-husband Danny Keough called Priscilla to inform her the star had collapsed at home and was in the hospital.

Speaking of her emotions at that time, she said: “I got right in the car, but she was already gone. I still can’t believe it. I don’t wish this on any mother.”

Lisa Marie’s death sparked a dispute between her daughter Riley Keough, 34, and Priscilla over ownership of the estate.

In a recently signed settlement, Priscilla has agreed to relinquish control of Elvis’ estate to Riley, in exchange for $1.4 million plus an undisclosed sum for ten years.

The settlement also put Riley in charge of the sub-trusts of her 14-year-old sisters Harper and Finley Lockwood.

Their dad, Lisa Marie’s ex-husband Michael Lockwood, had to sign off the agreement on their behalf.

In the interview, Priscilla shut down the idea that there was ever a feud, while also confirming Riley’s new role in Lisa Marie’s estate.

She confirmed: “Riley is now the executor, which should be right, obviously, being her daughter.

“Riley and I are on good terms. We were never not on good terms. That was all publicity.”

Elvis Presley’s ex-wife continued to note that the matter is “private” and that feud comments are “not something to fool around with”.

Priscilla was interviewed alongside director Sofia Coppola, who is adapting the star’s 1985 memoir Elvis and Me into a new film about her live with the rock and roll icon.
