Queen Camilla’s first love Kevin Burke tragically dies aged 77

Queen Camilla's first love Kevin Burke has tragically died at the age of 77.

While we all know Camilla's love story with King Charles, who she's been married to for 18 years, Kevin was the first man who she found love with.

The pair are thought to have met in 1965 at a party in Knightsbridge, during the Queen's halcyon days and during the swinging sixties where they would dance and attend cocktail parties.

But it was sadly announced earlier this month that Kevin had sadly passed away.

Hi family have asked for donations to be made to the British Heart Foundation and his funeral is due to take place in September.

While their relationship was brief, Kevin had spoken very fondly of his former flame, Camilla.

Talking about their time together, Kevin revealed in Jessica Jayne's biography: The Duchess of Cornwall her story and secrets, "Every night we had two or three cocktail parties to go to and a dance and a couple of dances to choose from at weekends in the country.

"It was the best fun, and I had the best and most fun partner you could possibly wish for. Camilla was immensely popular."

The now Queen was so popular that it wasn't long until "ditched" Kevin and left him with a broken heart.

Kevin said: "I remained with Camilla all that year. I suppose we were in love and then she ditched me. Why?

"Well, the short answer is that she was having a ball in London."

Camilla went on to marry her first husband and former Army officer Andrew Parker Bowles in 1973, who she had two children with – Tom and Laura.

After 22 years of marriage, Camilla and Andrew got divorced in 1995 after reportedly living apart for at least two years.

In 1999 Camilla and Charles appeared in public together for the first time and a few years later tied the knot during a civil ceremony at Windsor Guildhall on 9 April 2005.

While Kevin, who became an accountant, finally settled down when he was 42 and married advertising executive Peta Baker.

They were married for 14 years before parting ways in 2001, he went on to marry Luisa Fairey, with whom he became a dad for the first time at 58 years old.

Kevin is survived by his "much loved" son Max.
