Raven-Symoné has a thing or two in common with her famous Disney Channel character.
If you were a fan of the beloved children’s TV show That’s So Raven, you probably remember it was jam-packed with quirky humor, 2000s nostalgia, oh, and some fantastical superhuman powers! Raven Baxter was just a normal teen girl who struggled with average, everyday things — but also had the psychic ability to see visions into the future! These visions would often lead her into some wacky situations, making for some memorable television programming. But apparently, the actress behind the hit role is far more like her on-screen character than anyone would have anticipated!
On Sunday, the 37-year-old actress opened up discussion on her iHeartMedia show, The Best Podcast Ever, for some talk about real-world psychics, and how she may have a version of the supernatural gift she was granted on the Disney show. She dished:
“I truly believe. I believe actually humans have the ability in their brain to tap into energy fields that allow for truth to connect when you know how to translate it correctly. I can walk into a room and it’s reading energy and energy in the psychic plane, because it’s not on a physical, material plane.”
Whaaaat?! Superhuman Raven was not on our 2023 Bingo cards!
But hold your horses, because her gifts don’t manifest in the same way her on-screen character’s did… While she can’t necessarily see into the future, she claims to be able to see versions of herself in “another dimension.” The View host explained:
“I do have moments where I really will just stare and I will see a scene that is happening to me or that is going to happen to me in another dimension and I’m like, ‘Yo, this is weird.’ There will be a time when I’m walking and I’ll trip over nothing.”
Call Olivia Rodrigo, because it sounds like she’s getting some major Deja Vu!
The Cosby Show alum theorized that her psychic abilities stem from her “spirit guides,” which she was able to hone in through “meditation.” She explained:
“The way we connect is through our trauma. Meditation just allowed my spirit guides to help me and even to this day that can happen.”
Inneresting! Makes us wonder what our alternate reality versions of ourselves are doing… But don’t mistake The Cheetah Girls star for a fool, because a fortune teller’s magic “crystal ball” won’t work on her:
“Now if you sit me down and somebody’s like, ‘Look into my crystal ball,’ I’m gonna be like, ‘Give me my money back.’ But I do believe there is natural auras that hold the experiences of all of our people, totally.”
