Rebekah Vardy in tears in first interview after Wagatha Christie trial

Rebekah Vardy has made her first appearance after she was reportedly rushed to A&E on Friday following a horse riding accident.

The 41-year-old took to Instagram to share a selfie with her 403,000 followers.

In the snap, Rebekah can be seen standing in front of a mirror at the gym with her leg strapped up in a plastic air boot, as she was supported by a pair of crutches for good measure.

Captioning the image, the mum-of-five, who is married to footballer Jamie Vardy, wrote: “Happy Days time to glam the boot up” followed by laughing face emojis.

It was reported that Rebekah’s horse got “spooked” and threw her from the saddle. The star’s foot then got caught in her stirrup as she fell, and she was then dragged along the ground leading to a broken heel.

In the comments section, one fan couldn’t help but notice the boot looked familiar, writing: “Someone else had a boot like that, didn’t they.”

The Instagram user was referencing Coleen Rooney, who was seen wearing a similar brace when she arrived at court during the infamous Wagatha Christie libel trial last year.

Coleen, 37, had to wear the air boot after suffering an ankle injury following an accident at her home.

Other fans, however, were more sympathetic towards Rebekah following her accident, with one writing: “I hope you make a full recovery and I hope you are keeping well too.”

A second added: “Hope it heals soon and not too painful” and a third echoed those comments posting: “Ouch! Sending you lots of get well soon vibes!”

A couple of fans sent jokes to Rebekah, with one writing: “Get the glitter out babs” and another adding: “Oh no… was that a double leg challenge by Jamie. Speedy recovery.”

The star underwent a two-year investigation to find out who was leaking details of her private life to the press.

She recently opened up about the experience in a new Disney+ docuseries called Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story.

In the three-part series, Coleen revealed that she had posted a series of false claims, including a claim that she was going to Mexico with her husband Wayne Rooney to look into “baby gender selection”, via her private social media accounts.

Coleen blocked everyone but Rebekah from seeing the posts, which led to her claiming Jamie Vardy’s wife was the source behind stories that were appearing in the press at the time.

Rebekah then launched a libel case against Coleen, but lost when the judge branded her an “untrustworthy witness”.
