Richard E. Grant, 65, took to Twitter on Wednesday to share a picture with his wife Joan Washington, who died in September of last year. The sweet snap of Joan at Christmas time received over 86,900 likes and nearly 1000 retweets from the actor’s 340,700 followers.

The picture showed Joan smiling in front of a beautiful mantlepiece, decorated with large golden candlesticks and Christmas baubles.

“Taken on her last ever birthday, 21st December – my beloved late wife Joan,” Richard wrote.

“Her bravery, fortitude, resistance and acceptance of her diagnosis, are an inexhaustible inspiration.

“I miss her more than is measurable,” the actor concluded in the heartbreaking tribute to his late wife.

Richard revealed late last year that his wife Joan had died at the age of 74 following a long battle with cancer.

The With Nail and I star shared via social media that his partner had died on September 3, eight months after receiving her stage-four lung cancer diagnosis.
