Prince Harry will not receive a warm welcome in light of the criticism aimed at his family in his new book, a source has claimed.
The Duke of Sussex, 38, released his long-awaited autobiography Spare earlier this week, which contained a range of claims about his family members, including King Charles, Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
And following on from the release, speculation has begun to rise on whether Harry's revelations could cost him an invite to his father's coronation in May – with a source now claiming this could be the case.
In his recent tell-all interview with journalist Tom Bradby on ITV, Harry said “the ball is in their [the family's] court” when it comes to whether he'll attend the once-in-a-lifetime event.
However, his family are said to be hurt by the amount of details on their personal lives that were divulged in the book and the allegations made against them.
The Sun reports Harry is "not welcome" at the coronation, with a source telling the publication: "There have been discussions among the family, including Edward and Anne.
"They do not want private conversations at the Coronation making it into the paperback edition of Spare."
OK! has contacted a Buckingham Palace representative for comment.
During his ITV interview, Harry left the question of whether he would be at the coronation or not open-ended, but expressed a desire to discuss it with his family.
In the programme, interviewer Tom asked: "If you are invited to the coronation will you come?"
Harry replied: "There’s a lot that can happen between now and then.
He continued: "But, the door is always open. The ball is in their court. There’s a lot to be discussed and I really hope that they’re willing to sit down and talk about it."
Shouldering some of the biggest claims in the book is Queen Consort Camilla, who Harry alleges leaked stories to the press about himself, Meghan and his brother Prince William.
He also revealed that both he and William begged their father King Charles not to marry Camilla, before the couple finally tied the knot in a ceremony in 2005.
In one of several less than favourable accounts of his brother William, Harry accused his brother of hitting the bottle hard the night before his wedding to blushing bride Kate Middleton, even claiming his brother was “tipsy” during an impromptu walkabout the night before the big day.
He also wrote of how King Charles, then the Prince of Wales, allegedly told his mother Princess Diana on the day of his birth: “Wonderful! Now you’ve given me an heir and a spare. My work is done.”
Harry then noted media reports claiming Charles went to spend time with Camilla hours after he was born.
