Ruth Langsford shows off workout routine after very indulgent Christmas

Ruth Langsford has revealed how she's started as she means to go on in 2022, sharing an intense home workout routine.

The broadcaster, who recently confirmed she would not be leaving This Morning despite husband Eamonn’s departure, shared a video of an upper body workout.

Posting the video on Instagram, she wrote: "Off to a flying start with @fitwithfrank today! Getting back into my fitness routine after a very indulgent Christmas!

"Using the @trxtraining strap thingy! Concentrating on upper body today….triceps are trembling! #fitness #training #trx #fitwithfrank #backontrack #newyear."

In the video, Ruth did several exercises with a black resistance band attached to a door in her home, including lunges and mid-air push-ups.

Dressed in all black activewear with grey and white patterned cut-out panels, the television presenter could be seen and heard laughing as she struggled to complete her reps.

This is the latest in several candid fitness updates Ruth has shared with fans recently – only last summer she kept her followers updated with her progress using the Couch to 5k running appand set up a makeshift home gym.

Ruth's future on ITV has been the subject of rumours for several months now. First, she was replaced alongside husband Eamonn on Friday instalments of This Morning by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.

Then in November, after 15 memorable years, Ruth's husband Eamonn left the show.

However, Ruth recently shared in an interview with Best magazine that her place was firmly with the channel, saying: "I'm still at ITV, with This Morning and Loose Women."

A spokesperson for ITV also confirmed this news, adding: "Ruth remains an important part of ITV Daytime both as a continuing member of the This Morning family and as an anchor presenter on Loose Women."

Eamonn has since gone on to work on GB News,a move which Ruth has been highly supportive of, but she hasn’t ruled out the chance of the two of them working together again one day in the future.

"I'm thrilled, it's what he does best. He's always been very entertaining on This Morning – Eamonn can turn his hand to anything," she told Best.
