Reality star Stephen Bear has been sentenced in his revenge porn case.
For those who don’t know, the 32-year-old television personality – who appeared on several shows in the past, including Shipwrecked, Ex on the Beach, and Celebrity Big Brother — shared a video of himself having sex with former Love Island UK contestant Georgia Harrison on his OnlyFans three years ago. Not only did he not have her permission to post online, she didn’t give him permission to film it!
According to the BBC, the two were recorded being intimate together on a CCTV camera in his garden back in August 2020. During the trial, Georgia insisted she never knew they were being filmed at the time. When Stephen showed the footage to her, prosecutor Jacqueline Carey KC said Georgia begged him “never to send” it to anyone and “made it plain how upset she would be if he did.”
Despite this, The Challenge star decided to ignore her request. Georgia claimed she saw Stephen send the video to someone on WhatsApp – and that’s when the nightmare began, as she later discovered that the clip was circulating online. The prosecutor noted in the trial that Bear uploaded the video “either himself or had it uploaded to OnlyFans” and therefore had “profited financially” from it. What the f**k.
For his part, Stephen denied everything and told jurors he deleted the video in August 2020. He also claimed he never sent it to anyone. Per the BBC, Georgia told the court that Stephen never apologized for what happened — but instead doubled the cost of his OnlyFans fee after posting the “revenge porn” video:
“After this happened I was in the worst state of my life. I can’t explain the shame I felt. I did not want to leave my room. Instead of apologising, he put his subscription price up from £25 to £50.”
Stephen was eventually found guilty in December of voyeurism and two counts of disclosing private, sexual photographs and films. And now, the reality star has gotten a very real term — on Friday, he was sentenced to 21 months in prison!
Following the sentencing, Georgia shared that she was “happy and relieved that this matter is finally over,” adding:
“Today’s sentence is a vindication of what I’ve been put through, and sends a clear message that the police and the courts take this matter very seriously.”
She previously opened up to the BBC about how hard the situation has been for her over the past couple of years, expressing:
“Something like this makes you feel completely worthless – people are looking at you and having sexual gratification over you and it’s completely out of your control. It affects you for a really long time, I’ve always compared it to grief – sometimes you think you’re ok and then suddenly you are just in sheds of tears and you just can’t help it.”
We’re glad Georgia finally got some justice after this difficult ordeal. Reactions, Perezcious readers? Do you think Stephen’s sentencing was fair? Let us know in the comments below.
