Sopranos star John Ventimiglia’s daughter has died aged 25, three months after giving birth.
Odele died on 12 January, her family have heartbreakingly confirmed, but her cause of death is yet to be revealed.
Announcing the news on Facebook, Odele’s mother Bellinda Cape penned: “Heartbroken to have to post our darling Odele’s funeral notice.
“Her sister Lucinda and I have been overwhelmed by the messages of support and love we have received, and your remembrances of how cherished Odele was to so many. Odele was greatly loved, and leaves a huge hole in our lives.”
She added: “Odele is survived by her sister, Lucinda Ventimiglia, mother, Belinda Cape, father John Ventimiglia, and her beloved daughter Shiloh.”
Odele’s sister Lucidna also paid tribute in an emotional Instagram post.
She wrote: “Words will never be enough to express the grief we are all feeling. I loved my little sister a lot and I will spend the rest of my life searching for her in everything.
“My family and i are so grateful for all the care and support we have been receiving during this impossible time. it has never been more clear how much she meant to so many people.”
The young mother’s funeral took place yesterday, Thursday 26 January, with Belinda asking for donations to a GoFundMe page dedicated to Odele’s daughter Shiloh in lieu of flowers.
The money raised will go towards Shiloh's future education costs, with the page having already raised over $56,000 – exceeding its initial target of $50,000.
In the wake of Odele’s untimely passing, people paid their respects on the GoFundMe page set up by Belinda.
“We are so sorry for the loss of your beloved Odele. May the words from the service today and the love and support of your family and friends continue to bring you comfort,” wrote one person.
“Our deepest sympathy with the loss of your beautiful daughter Odele,” added another.
A third person went on: “Sending prayers for baby Shiloh as a new mom myself. My heartfelt condolences go out to her friends and family.”
Odele’s father John, 59, is best known for starring as Artie Bucco in The Sopranos.
His character ran the Vesuvio Restaurant, and was childhood pals with leadman Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini).
More recently, he’s starred in TV series such as Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, and Law & Order.
The actor is yet to address his daughter’s tragic passing.
