Stacey Solomon begs for help from new mum Molly-Mae Hague after bun blunder

Loose Women panellist Stacey Solomon begged fans and fellow mum Molly-Mae Hague for “newborn fresh” hair advice as she struggled on her Instagram story.

Stacey, who earlier hit back at fans who said she should have a day off, noticed a running trend of what she called “newborn fresh”, essentially a scraped-back bun.

Unfortunately, the former X Factor contestant struggled to pull off the look herself and took to Instagram on Sunday to ask for some help.

Both Stacey and Molly-Mae have recently welcomed new additions to their families, with the former Love Island star naming her daughter Bambi with Tommy Fury and Stacey introducing her fifth child, and her third with Joe Swash, as Belle.

A very giggly Stacey said: “I just need to know how to do this because it’s bugging me.

“Thought I’d scrape my hair back into a bun today because I keep seeing people doing it. I seen Molly-Mae do it and she looks so beautiful, I call it newborn fresh.

“Like, you’ve got a newborn so you chuck it into a bun and just look really pretty, natural, and it pulls all your face back.”

She continued to say that when she tried to pull it off, she ended up looking like Miss Trunchbull and added: “Why? Why do I not look like newborn fresh, like Molly?”

Miss Trunchbull was the antagonist in the classic Matilda and was originally played by Pam Ferris before Emma Thompson took over the role in the recent musical adaptation.

“I look like I’m going to shove my newborn into the chokey,” she joked, referencing the spikey closet from Matilda.

She added, chuckling: “Why doesn’t it suit me? Is it my face? I just need to know.”

Captioning the video, she added: “Can you send me a newborn slick hair tutorial please @mollymae.”

Taking to Instagram once again, the former I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here winner, who competed against Alison Hammond and Kayla Collins, shared a few suggestions from eager fans.

One person said: “It looks good! Pull down some strands by the ears and it'll look even better.”

“This one didn’t help the situation for me,” Stacey replied alongside a picture that showed she’d tried the suggestion.

“This did make me laugh, do the bun lower,” someone else chimed in, to which Stacey replied, “This one meant you couldn’t see any of my hair, so it just makes me look like a small boy.”

Another fan thought that Stacey should “put a little part in the front”, but Stacey replied, “This one was the most shocking. I look like I’m off to Eaton or I’m about to be left Home Alone.”

Ultimately, Stacey’s final tip was to wash her hair, which she said she is going to try tomorrow as it’s her “only option.”
