Stacey Solomon was gifted Janet Street-Porter’s wedding garter at her Loose Women hen do on Friday, 15 July.
The 32 year old partied with fellow panellists Kaye Adams, Linda Robson and Nadia Sawalha ahead of her upcoming wedding to Joe Swash, and was given a selection of traditional hen gifts as she was surprised with her extra-special present from Janet on the show.
While Janet, 75, was not there in person during filming, she was certainly in spirit, as her white garter from her second wedding was revealed as Stacey’s “something borrowed” gift.
Linda, 64, did the honours of presenting the garter to the bride-to-be. Stacey laughed before learning who owned the frilly piece, as she responded: “I wish I’d shaved my legs! I’m waiting for the wedding day!”
She proceeded to lift up the skirt of her purple floral print dress, as Linda reacted jokily: “Oh my god, that’s like a brillo pad!”
The panel then let Stacey know that Janet had worn the garter at her own nuptials — leaving the star visibly shocked.
“No, I’ve got Janet Street Porter’s garter!?!” Stacey replied, before saying: “Oh my god, that’s amazing. Thanks Janet!”
“I can’t imagine Janet wearing that garter!” Nadia exclaimed. Stacey disagreed, as she said: “I can definitely imagine Janet in a garter.”
“She’s a right old raver,” Linda added. “Four times married!”
The rest of Stacey’s hen gifts included, Linda, who comically presented herself as “something old”, a Stacey Solomon-Swash Loose Women mug from Nadia, 57, as “something new”, and wore a blue-lined sash with the words ‘Bride to be’, as “something blue”.
Stacey was beaming as she celebrated getting married with her daytime co-hosts whilst sipping on cocktails in the confetti-decorated studio.
The star had earlier informed her followers that she had invited her co-hosts back to Pickle Cottage after filming the show for a “special hen” to continue the celebrations.
Posting a photo on Instagram Stories of her holding her Loose Women mug, the star wrote: “I’m getting ready for Fun Friday with my favourite girls.
“I’m so excited because straight after the show we are all getting a minibus back to mine for a special hen dinner with my Loose family and any of my special friends and family who couldn’t make my hen away."
