‘They are the worst kept secret’: Strictly Come Dancing champion Jowita Pryzstal ‘is secretly dating fellow pro Giovanni Pernice’

Strictly Come Dancing champion Jowita Pryzstal is secretly dating pro Giovanni Pernice, according to a new report.

Jowita, who won this year’s Glitterball trophy with TV star Hamza Yassin, is said to have been caught kissing fellow pro dancer Giovanni backstage during filming.

The Sun report the sizzling couple are the BBC series’ ‘worst kept secret’ after they openly flirted at a recent party.

Polish beauty Jowita, 28, is new to the Strictly cast after joining the flagship BBC show for the 2022 series.

Italian Giovanni, 32, meanwhile has been starring on the show since 2015.

A source told the publication: ‘She and Gio are the worst kept secret, but make a great couple.

‘While they both kept insisting they were single, the pair’s chemistry was ridiculous — and they kept getting busted snogging in corridors. Crew even saw them kissing in the production office.

‘They make a great couple though, and have been pretty inseparable in the last few weeks.

‘Jowita, especially, wanted to keep things quiet so she could keep focused with Hamza, and not distract from the competition.’

The insider added that Giovanni and Jowita went public with their romance at Gio’s pal Chelsea star Jorghino’s birthday dinner, where they openly flirted after weeks of keeping their romance secret.

The pair danced together in a pro routine in the week four results show back in October where Jowita looked gorgeous in a green dress as she enjoyed a steamy embrace with Gio.

Jowita recently split from her longterm boyfriend, fellow dancer Michael Danilczuk.

Representatives for Jowita and Giovanni have been contacted by MailOnline for comment. 

Giovanni’s last relationship was with Love Island star Maura Higgins who he split from last October – before going on to enjoy a string on dates with Made In Chelsea star Verity Bowditch.

Taking to Instagram after the split, Giovanni insisted that sometimes ‘great relationships with great people can come to a natural end’ which is what happened with him and Maura.

He wrote: ‘Hey guys – I hope everyone had a great Monday. Going into another wonderful training week – thank you so much for your amazing messages & your support this weekend. 

‘I get to live my dream every single day because of you – so thank you, thank you, thank you. I wanted to say a couple of things…

‘Firstly, great relationships with great people can come to a natural end. This has been the case for me recently. There was absolutely no wrong-doing and this should be the end of any speculation.

‘Whilst I respect and understand interest in my personal life, wouldn’t it be fantastic to instead use this space to raise awareness of subjects and issues which need the attention.

‘The show has highlighted many important conversations for different communities and increased representation.

Giovanni has a string of other famous exes including Ashley Roberts, TOWIE’s Jess Wright, fellow dance pro Luba Mushtuk, 32, and former celeb dance partner Georgia May Foote. 

Meanwhile Jowita never made any announcement about her split from fellow dancer Michael.

In 2020, both he and Jowita catapulted to success in the UK, after they won series two of the BBC show the Greatest Dancer. 

The two were coached by Oti Mabuse, a professional dancer who has also appeared on Strictly. 

Jowita and Michael first met back in 2013, and according to their official website, it was at a dance summer camp in Krakow, Poland.

When Jowita was announced as a new Strictly pro in the group dances last year Michael posted a gushing message to his then-girlfriend.

The caption read: ‘I am so ecstatic to share with you all that my Babe made her biggest dream Come True. She is now one of the pro dancers on @bbcstrictly 2021. I am super proud of You @jowitaprzystal. You are the most hardworking person on this planet and I know you will be outstanding. I know how much this means to you.

‘I love you from the bottom of my heart and I know everyone will see what I see in you! Time to smash it babe!’

However, the couple have not posted together since March and no longer follow one another on Instagram.
