Twist and Shout Aljaz on pregnancy journey with Janette
Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara dropped the bombshell in an unearthed interview that her husband of 13 years, Aljaz Skorjanec, had developed “baby brain”, while he chimed in that he’d gained more weight during her pregnancy than she had.
The pair were discussing the situation on their Twist and Shout podcast, and Aljaz could scarcely contain his amusement when he quipped: “I don’t even have a baby in me!”
Janette, 39, had brought up the topic of “the Placebo effect, when you take medicine and you think it’s doing something to you when it’s really not”.
“Apparently your partner can also pick up pregnancy symptoms, and you have definitely picked up pregnancy symptoms from me, one of them being baby brain,” she told her other half.
The pro dancer chuckled: “[It happened] right now… we both forgot exactly what we were trying to say and why we were talking about it!”

She then cheekily ribbed him, adding feistily: “I have the excuse that I’m actually pregnant and you’ve just jumped on the bandwagon!”
Meanwhile, proud Aljaz marvelled about how little fat she’d put on between her first and second weighing sessions during the pregnancy, which took place six months apart.
He revealed that she’d only gained “two and a half kilos” by the time of the second one, which he compared to “a roast on Sunday, including the little baby”.
“I’ve gained some weight in the last six months and I know for a fact, I haven’t actually put myself on a scale, but I know for a fact that I’ve actually gained more weight than you did!” he laughed.

Aljaz added in astonishment: “It was a bit of an eye-opening situation.”
Meanwhile, the pair also talked about how their routines had changed while expecting their baby daughter, with dance workouts now taking a back seat.
Janette clarified that she didn’t miss the “aches and pains” of rehearsals, but had been pining for the “creativity” of the sessions.
Meanwhile, Aljaz cheekily quipped that the part he missed the most was right at the end.
“Standing in front of a mirror for five hours [working on my steps], mentally I just can’t do it anymore!” he explained.
The couple added that they now “never” work mornings, asking who would want to be dancing at 9am.
Meanwhile, Janette and Aljaz offered their followers access to their new journey in parenthood by sharing a photo of themselves carrying their baby in a tiny car seat as they headed home.
They reassured fans that little Lyra was “very cosy” as she settled into her new home for the first time.
