Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice in ‘dream come true’ new move after early show exit

Strictly Come Dancing pro Giovanni Pernice has launched a new perfume, which “captures the energy of” his home town in Sicily, just days after bidding his celebrity partner a fond farewell.

Just days after telling Amanda Abbington of his sorrow that the pair couldn’t continue in the show together, the 33-year-old unveiled a breathtaking advert to his one million Instagram followers.

Featuring a publicity shot of himself up close and personal with Brazilian model Amanda Faical, a proud Giovanni boasted: “My dream come true is finally here!”

The smouldering star continued: “VITA is my new fragrance for men and women – an intoxicating scent that captures the sensuality, vitality and energy of Sicily.

“I have long been passionate about fragrance and the way scent can captivate the emotions and transport us to another place.”

“VITA is the embodiment of my passions, a personal and complex fragrance which slowly seduces as it unfolds on the skin,” he continued.

“I hope you love VITA as much as I do. Go to gpvita.com to find out more. Giovanni.”

The star has turned off comments on the post, drawing maximum attention towards his message.

Six days earlier, he’d created a post celebrating his dance partnership with actress Amanda Abbington, and expressing his sadness that it had ended prematurely.

“Amanda… I am so sad we can’t continue but I am proud of what we achieved and I am sending you so much love,” he wrote.

The Sherlock star has not shared the reason that she’s had to pull out of the competition, but a post she published the previous weekend urged fans to “be kind”

Quoting Robin Williams, she stated: “People don’t fake depression… they fake being okay.”

Meanwhile, Giovanni’s mum Rosalda told The Sun following Amanda’s departure that rehearsing for the show can be intense, explaining: “They have to train tough hours to get some results.”

Fans were devastated when Giovanni was also missing from Sunday night’s Strictly dance routine, after he was said to have suffered an injury.

It meant he could not be spotted in the opening number which kicked off the results show – and he wasn’t able to showcase his Halloween costume either.

@jayneshellard quipped on Instagram: “Gio is the Halloween King – he will be gutted he’s missing it.”

The star first moved to London in 2015 to compete in his first ever Strictly series, and initially needed a translator via an earpiece to help him understand what was being said to him – but he has progressed enormously since, and even won the competition in 2021 with EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis.
