Nadiya Bychkova has revealed she and her six year old daughter Mila – who she shares with Slovenian footballer Matija Škarabot – have permanently moved to the UK as her romance with Strictly Come Dancing co-star Kai Widdrington strengthens.
Talking to OK! about making the big commitment, multiple-award-winning dancer Nadiya, 33, says: "I have a new relationship and I moved my whole life here last year so Mila could go to school in the UK.
“It was big for Mila – it’s a new language, new people, but she loves it. It’s not that simple to balance it all – we both have careers on the rise and I have a family to look after."
She continued: "There’s a lot of pressure but we’re so lucky because we’re doing what we love and we have each other. It’s having that one person you can always count on and who’ll be there no matter what."
Nadiya – who was married before to Sergey Konovaltsev from 2013 until 2015 – also spoke of her hopes to marry Kai one day in the future.
"Marriage is important to me. I want to be a wife, a mother, I want a family," she shared.
Kai added: “It’s a future I want, too, absolutely,” confirms Kai. “I would love to be a dad and one day be a husband and have a family. Ultimately, we’re not trying to start a family right now, but we are trying to create that family feeling among us and that’s important.
“I know it’s mushy but it’s about love. You have to be there 100% for each other – we always say it’s not 50/50, it’s 100/100.”
The couple are clearly smitten with each other since their romance blossomed last year. And Kai previously gushed over Nadiya on his social media.
Proving to fans that their relationship was still going strong in August last year, Kai wished his girlfriend a happy birthday – branding Nadiya as his “everything”.
"Happy birthday my baby girl [red heart emoji] Thankyou for being the beautiful person that you are, I’m reminded everyday by the smiles and laughs that we have together of how lucky I am to have you in my life," he wrote.
"You are my everything," he finished, before Nadiya replied: "My baby”, followed by a heart emoji.y baby.
Nadiya also paid tribute to her beau on Instagram for his birthday, with her writing: "Happy birthday m
“You make this world a better place, because of the person you are…I am so lucky to have you in my life. Thank you for making me smile every day. Thank you for you."
Kai's 2021 celebrity dance partner AJ Odudu revealed she was “happy” for the couple's new romance.
"Yeah, of course [I’m happy for them]. I’ve just been so busy and he’s been so busy over the last few months," AJ told OK! in May last year.
