Will Mellor left host Tess Daly flustered during Sunday’s Strictly semi-final show after his tight trousers burst during his routine. 

The actor, 46, could be seen fumbling with his cummerbund as he and partner Nancy Xu prepared for the judge’s feedback following their Pasodoble. 

‘My Button’s burst I think’ he admitted, leaving Tess, 53, red faced when he said: ‘They’re a bit tight these pants’.

Peaking down at his trousers an embarrassed Tess mumbled: ‘Oh gosh they are quite tight’. 

Before adding: ‘Wardrobe malfunction’. 

Will donned a matador inspired outfit for the routine with black trousers and embroidered waistcoat which he layered over a sheer top.

Meanwhile Nancy wore a glamorous red and blue dress with a gold belt for the show that was moved from its usual Saturday slot due to Qatar World Cup scheduling while the results show will air on Monday night on BBC One at 8:15pm.

The couple were the final of the five couples to take to the dance floor with their first dance of the evening, with the pair dancing the Pasodoble. 

Giving her comments, Shirley said: ‘There was quite a few things missing for me in this dance. You had the arrogance part, you came out and you delivered a good strong message, I’ll give you that.

‘But Pasodoble has been built on an oval shape. It collapsed when you picked her up… when you choose to use a cape, you can’t just flap it about. It is an extension of your arms.

‘I do believe you gave it 100 per cent of your heart.’

Anton said: ‘For me it is always about the storytelling with you… nothing upsets me more than when the dance gets a bit generic. I never get that with you.

‘I think you tried too hard. You just gave it a bit too much.’

Bottom: Craig told them: ‘I do have to agree with Shirley, the cape work needed air… I love the way you take command and I know how hard you work but this dance I don’t think was you for tonight’

Craig awarded a seven while Motsi gave them nine, Shirley awarded a seven Anton gave them nine. They scored a total of 32 out of 40.
