Teresa Giudice Dragged for Wearing Balenciaga Amid Brand BDSM Controversy

The ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star is called out by fans for donning a Balenciaga outer during her trip to Paris with husband Louie Ruelas despite the brand’s controversy.

AceShowbizTeresa Giudice landed in hot water for her recent fashion choice. “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star was called out by fans after she was seen donning a Balenciaga outer amid controversy against the high fashion brand over its campaign pictures that featured children holding BDSM teddy bears.

In some pictures, which were shared on Instagram by her husband Louie Ruelas, the 50-year-old reality TV star was seen wearing a white sweater with the Balenciaga label printed all over it. Taken during the couple’s trip to Paris, the photos saw her posing excitedly in various places.

Fans quickly slammed Teresa with many urging her to get rid of the brand. “We love you but burn that balenciaga!!!!” a fan wrote in the comments section alongside multiple puking emojis. “Love you Tre but take off that sweater girl!” someone else added.

Another fan said, “@teresagiudice I love you but please do not endorse this brand. You’ll see why, it’s disturbing.” Meanwhile, a user was quick to cancel the Bravo personality as writing, “Balenciaga…GREAT, another person to unfollow! You do realize there are normalizing child bondage, right? Are you ok with that? Shameful! UN FOLLOW!”

Balenciaga sparked outrage after the release of campaign for its Spring/Summer 2023 collection. The controversial campaign, which was taken by photographer Gabriele Galimberti, featured children holding stuffed animals that appeared to be wearing bondage-inspired outfits. An eagle-eyed fan additionally pointed out that one image included an excerpt from a U.S. Supreme Court case that upheld part of a federal child pornography law.

The Spanish brand immediately pulled the controversial images off of social media and completely wiped out its Instagram account amid the backlash. It also issued an apology in a statement which read, “We apologize for displaying unsettling documents in our campaign. We take this matter very seriously and are taking legal action against the parties responsible for creating the set and including unapproved items for our Spring 23 campaign photoshoot. We strongly condemn abuse of children in any form. We stand for children’s safety and well-being.”

As for Galimberti, the photographer stressed that he had no input on the creative direction of the photoshoot. “I am not in a position to comment [on] Balenciaga’s choices, but I must stress that I was not entitled in whatsoever manner to neither choose the products, nor the models, nor the combination of the same,” he wrote in part in an Instagram post.

Teresa wasn’t the only celebrity who was dragged for being associated with the brand amid the controversy. Nicole Kidman, Dua Lipa, Christine Quinn, Alexa Demie and Kim Kardashian were among other celebrities being chastised by Internet users.
