This Morning scoops 12th NTA win in a row – but speech is marred by booing

This Morning has successfully won a National Television Award for the 12th year in a row, despite the controversies surrounding show co-hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

Controversy surrounding the co-hosts arose amidst claims the duo had jumped the queue while paying respects to the late Queen Elizabeth, as they attended her Lying-In-State.

However, it seems the controversy hasn't had impact on the public's love for the show, with the general public voting for the show to win it's 12th NTA.

Accepting the award Phil and Holly thanked the general public for their votes, and the rest of the team behind This Morning, before handing to microphone to co-presenter Alison Hammond.

Alison, who had been nominated for a presenting award earlier in the show, joked that she should have received an NTA earlier in the show as well.

She then praised those who had been nominated alongside her for the award and congratulated winners Ant and Dec.

While Alison's speech proved popular with those in the audience, the same can't be set of Phil and Holly.

As the nominees were announced some booing could be hear as clips from This Morning were shown.

Booing could then be heard following the announcement of the show's win, before quieting down as the speeches began.

Arriving at the ceremony this evening Holly, 41, showed off he stylish side, donning a breath-taking black gown by bridal and couture designer Yolancris.

Departing from her usual pastel coloured dresses, the classic black dress featured a strapless square neckline with a corset detailing – a shape that appears to be a favourite for the presenter.

Fan-favourite Alison also dressed up for the occasion looking radiant as she opted for a purple glittery gown with some gorgeous capped sleeves and a plunging neckline.

Phillip, however, had more of a low-key arrival, arriving significantly after the rest of the This Morning gang.

The 60 year old cut a dapper figure on the red carpet as he brought his eldest daughter Molly, 26, as his date.

He looked fantastic in a navy blue velvet jacket worn over a t-shirt of the same hue, whilst Molly coordinated with him in a lacy top and navy skirt.

While they may have won the award, some viewers found it hard to forget that about the queue-gate controversy.

The duo received media accreditation to access Westminster Hall where the Queen's coffin lay for four days for the public to pay their respects, however Holly and Phil appeared to bypass people who had queued for up to 14 hours.

A petition to get them axed from their jobs on This Morning circulated online and it ended up reaching over 75,000 signatures, with ITV issuing a statement insisting that they were there on a work capacity.
