Tim Burton is dishing on what led him to his upcoming series Wednesday!
If you don’t know, the Addams Family-centric show is the legendary director’s first series that he’s directed. He also serves as an executive producer.
“I enjoyed doing this TV series, just because it was interesting to have a different pace, a slower kind of burn. But obviously for me, I still love movies. I still think there’s a place for movies these days,” he told Variety.
Find out what drew him to the series inside…
As for what drew him to the show, it was showing a different side to the central character, Wednesday Addams (played by Jenna Ortega).
“I grew up watching the TV series, and I also liked Charles Adams’ cartoons. His original cartoons were really inspirational to me. But what triggered me most was just the Wednesday character,” he shared.
“I feel like Wednesday. I’ve felt like Wednesday since I was a teenager, even though I was a boy,” he added. “The snarky, snide teenager has the same kind of viewpoint as I do, the same kind of black and white viewpoint.”
