Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker has opened up about the “excruciating pain” that lead him to be admitted to hospital earlier this week.

The 46 old husband ofKourtney Kardashian, 43, was picturedbeing rushed to hospital strapped to a gurney on Tuesdaywith his wife of one month by his side, after he cryptically tweeted: “God save me”.

However on Saturday, the star finally opened up to fans on Instagram about what had prompted the urgent trip to hospital.

“I went in for an endoscope, Monday feeling great. But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalised ever since,” he wrote.

Travis then continued: “During the endoscopy, I had a very smack polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube.

“This resulted in severe life threatening pancreatitis.”

Thanks to the intervention of medics, his condition was thankfully stabilised, with the star sharing his gratitude with all the medical professionals that had helped him through the agonising situation.

“I am so, very, very grateful that with intensive treatment I am currently much better,” he added.

Pancreatitis is an extremely painful and potential fatal condition in which the pancreas, a small organ in the upper abdomen that produces insulin and digestive enzymes, becomes inflamed.

Alongside excruciating pain, which some patients have even likened to the “worst pain imaginable", the condition can also cause fever, nausea, rapid pulse and vomiting, among several other unpleasant side effects.

The Blink-182 star sparked concern from fans around the globe on Tuesday, after he was spotted being lifted from an ambulance and wheeled inside Los Angeles-based hospital Cedars Sinai Medical Center with Kourtney walking alongside him in a black skull-printed tracksuit.

Travis' 16 year old daughter, Alabama Barker, took to her Instagram stories at the time to urge people to “send your prayers” to her unwell father.

She also posted, then swiftly deleted, a picture of her dad on his hospital bed as she clutched his heavily-tattooed hand, and she added a pink love heart over the top of it.

Travis' dramatic hospital dash comes just over a month after he and reality star Kourtney tied the knot for the third time (in a matter of months) in a lavish and over-the-top celebration in Portofino, Italy, which was sponsored by the world-famous designers Dolce & Gabbana.

The couple, who started dating around the end of 2020, got engaged in a romantic rose-filled setting on the beach in Montecino, California, after dad-of-three, Travis, got down on one knee with a huge engagement ring, reported to be worth $1 million.

Their first 'wedding' took place in April in Las Vegas, in a ceremony conducted by an Elvis impersonator.

The wedding wasn't legal, as the couple could not obtain a marriage license at that time.

They later made things official in an intimate courthouse ceremony in Santa Barbara in May, with Kourtney's maternal grandmother MJ Campbell and Travis' father Randy acting as witnesses, before the rest of the family joined them for a third lavish ceremony in Italy.
