Victoria Beckham has been working overtime in the gym with the help of a former Team GB judo champion.

Health and fitness has always been important to the former Spice Girl who has recently been holidaying away with the family.

But now the 48 year old has enlisted former Team GB athlete, Bobby Rich, to help enhance her workouts as she keeps in tip-top shape.

In an interview with The Sun, the former British judo champion turned personal trainer, gave an insight into Victoria's gruelling workouts.

Bobby revealed Posh Becks joins him at the gym five days a week, and even maintains a healthy lifestyle on holidays as part of her strict fitness regime.

Bobby continued: "My methodology and application towards Victoria's training is based on my own conditioning programming I used when competing.

"I treat the year as a season and work through different training blocks, identifying peaks and recovery phases to get the most out of the incredible efforts Victoria puts into each session, mentally and physically.

"The biggest difference in Victoria's training is the introduction of strength training and functional movements, such as overhead squats, cleans and snatches."

In a standard session Victoria usually burns over 600 calories – five times a week.

Bobby continued to express how impressed he was with her work ethic as he said: "Victoria is a great example of my two fundamental teachings – accountability and consistency.

"No one is more accountable for your own health than you. And consistency is where real progress and change is made. It’s what makes it a lifestyle, not a habit. In a nutshell, Victoria trains hard, but she also trains smart."

Recently her footballing legend husband, David, had expressed his disappointment that Victoria doesn't share his "emotion" when it comes to food.

Earlier this year he said: "Unfortunately, I'm married to someone who has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years. Since I've met Victoria, she only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables. She'll very rarely deviate away from there."

Since then, however, the mother-of-four responded in Vogue magazine as she said: "What he meant is that he’s never met anyone who’s more disciplined with the way that they eat. I eat lots of healthy fat: fish, avocado, nuts, that sort of thing.

"I do drink alcohol, unless I have a reason not to. I’ll detox from anything for three to six months where I won’t drink. I’m quite extreme in anything I do, whether it’s eating or working out or drinking or not drinking."
