Will Smith supported by wife Jada and kids as he makes red carpet return after Oscars slap

Will Smith made his red carpet return in LA alongside his wife Jada and his three kids.

The 54 year old attended the premiere of his new film Emancipation eight months after he famously slapped Oscars host Chris Rock on stage during the film awards, which he recently opened up about.

Chris had made a joke which seemed to take aim at Jada Pinkett-Smith’s alopecia, incensing Will to the point that he decided to take to the stage to confront the comedian.

Smith shocked audiences by shouting “keep my wife’s name out of your f*****g mouth!” before striking Chris.

Although Will later apologised in an emotionally charged YouTube video for his actions, the Academy decided to ban him from the awards show for a decade.

Will, 54, appears to be on a mission to make amends, however, as he prefaced his promotion of new film Emancipation by saying that he “respects,” if his fans aren’t quite ready to watch him on screen again yet.

And his supportive family were all in attendance to support the beleaguered star as he attempts to make a comeback to the film business.

Will, who was wearing a maroon suit, was joined by wife Jada, 51 and his three kids – 30 year old Trey, who Will shares with ex Sheree Zampino, and his two youngest, daughter Willow, 22, and son Jaden, 24.

Jada, who has talked about how the family is healing after the controversy, was once again proudly sporting her shaved head and wore a bright white dress covered in glittering gemstones, paired neatly with white and silver nails, to the premiere.

The couple put on a loved-up display on the carpet as they were photographed kissing.

Jaden, who is a Grammy-nominated rapper, wore a patterned grey and white suit, whilst his singer sister Willow sported a black waistcoat and trousers embellished with silver gemstones.

Will’s eldest Trey, meanwhile, dressed down in a dark purple coat and a pink sweatshirt.

Will’s newest film follows a slave named Peter, played by Will himself, as he risks his life in order to flee a plantation in Louisiana.
