Yazmin Oukhellou addresses chance of a TOWIE return as she pushes on with crash recovery

It's been three months since TOWIE star Yazmin Oukhellou was involved in a horror car crash which claimed the life of her on-off boyfriend, Jake McLean.

The car that Yazmin, 28, and Jake, the driver, were travelling in, plunged off a cliff in Bodrum, Turkey, leaving Yazm with a broken arm and other injuries, while Jake sadly lost his life aged just 38.

Since being discharged from hospital, Yaz has embarked on the road to recovery, both mentally and physically, and she's now addressed a possible return to ITVBe's The Only Way is Essex, the show that made her famous.

Yazmin said: “They’ve left the door open for me whenever I want to go back, but I wasn’t ready this series. I love the show and everyone who works on it, and ITV have been super-supportive. But I’m just going to take it day by day.”

Yazmin has discussed the aftermath of her life following the crash, as she revealed that she's received vile abuse from trolls as she attempts to move on with her life.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: "There’s not a day where I don’t think about the crash. Just because I’m smiling in a picture, it doesn’t mean I’m smiling inside.

"But spending time with those closest to me is an hour or two where I can escape from my reality. I know how incredibly fortunate I am to have survived, but now I feel as though some people want me to still suffer – and I don’t understand why."

After being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Yazmin is now focusing her energies in raising awareness about the disorder after being appointed as the ambassador for the charity PTSD UK.

She shared that she's suffered with flashbacks, nightmares and panic attacks since the crash, as she said "it's the flashbacks that form the biggest part of my PTSD."

When she came round in car after it plunged into a ravine, Yaz had to snap her own arm to break free from the wreckage.

Doctors initially feared that they might have to amputate it, or otherwise, that she might need a skin graft and never get the full movement of her limb back due to the nerve damage.

The brave star spoke of how she refused to accept the doctor's comments and, after being told she might never be able to swim again, she went to the gym and swam anyway, saying that "having the right mindset is key."
