An interior designer shares the best buys from IKEA – including the viral champagne coupes priced at £3 | The Sun

A VANCOUVER-based interior designer, regularly shares her top home tips with her 32k followers.

And in a recent video which garnered nearly 90k likes, Carmen Javier weighed in on the four most boujee bits you can currently pick up from Ikea.

Her first shout out is for the homeware store’s Besta cabinet, priced at around £150.

It‘s a super-versatile piece, Carmen says, because you can either mount it to the wall or have it on the floor.

Even better, she explains “as you grow and move into a larger space you can add on additional cabinet modules” because the pieces can simply be slotted on.

“That’s what I did, and it’s lasted with me almost eight years now.”

The design whizz’s next shout out goes to the gorgeous Sallskaplig Champagne Coupes, which you can pick up a four pack of for just £13.

The gorgeous glasses are “such a vibe”, Carmen says, and add a touch of class to any dinner party.

She also loves the Storhet rounded champagne coupes, which come in at a bargain £3 each.

Carmen’s next selection is the Ribba 60x90cm photo frame, perfect for displaying groovy prints, which is a very reasonable £25.

For those looking for a smaller option, she suggests the Hovsta 31x41cm frame, which comes in a stunning oak colour and is a steal at just £12.

Her final tip, for those after an “affordable, timeless, minimal sofa”, is the Soderhamn in a gorgeous cream colour, which is priced at £590.

“You can add on modules as you grow into larger spaces,” she adds, extending the piece to make it fit for a family.

You can also order custom legs, such as a rounded wooden set she shows off on her own couch, from companies online.

It means you can upgrade the piece over the years when you can afford to splash out a bit extra.

At the end of the clip, Carmen offers a few extra “quickfire” choices, including the £12 Chilifrukt vase; the £2.50 Hedervard candle holder; and the modern-looking Vikhammer nightstand, perfect for those after a monochromatic bedroom.

Her handy clip racked up more than 90k likes, with viewers sharing the love for the Ikea staples Carmen opted for.

“Ikea is so overwhelming,” one complained, “so appreciate this breakdown and love your choices.”

“Besta is really THE best,” another agreed. “Looks and feels chic and adds dimension to the space when it's mounted on the wall.”
