Valentine’s Day always falls on February 14^th, although the day of the week it falls on will inevitably change, the actual date does not.

This means this year Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday. Whether you choose to celebrate on the actual day, or on the weekends, which fall either side of Valentine’s Day there is plenty of time to shower your partner with love.

Better yet, why not celebrate the weekend before on 11^th and 12^th February, as well as the 18^th and 19^th? That’s if you want to pull out all the stops.

Valentine’s Day is unlike Mother’s or Father’s Day, which is celebrated on two different dates across the globe.

Is Valentine's Day a bank holiday?

Unfortunately for everyone across the globe celebrating Valentine’s Day, including those in the UK, Valentine’s day is not a bank holiday.

Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are also not bank holidays, but annual celebrations or religious days in the calendar.

In the UK there are usually eight bank holidays throughout the year.

However, this year the UK will be treated to nine bank holidays, which includes 1^st January, 7 and 10 April, 1, 8 and 29 May, 28 August, as well as Christmas and Boxing Day, which fall on 25 and 26^th December.

The first Valentine's Day can be a tricky one to get right.

But there's no need to panic when it comes to the emotional minefield of gifting in early relationships.
