Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed Queen Consort Camilla’s subtle tribute to the Queen as she attended her funeral today.
Queen Elizabeth II was rarely seen without one of her iconic handbags, made by her favourite British based designer, Launer.
And as Camilla paid her respects today, she did so with a Launer handbag tucked under her arm – a sweet tribute to her late mother-in-law.
The Queen gave Launer the royal warrant in 1968, and they continued to supply her with bags throughout her reign.
She usually opted for a boxy design with short handles – although Launer were happy to make adjustments at her request.
It was a Launer handbag that the Queen pulled her marmalade sandwiches from when having tea with Paddington.
And even in the Queen’s final picture – stood by a fireplace at Balmoral Castle – you can catch a glimpse of her patent Launer handbag on her arm.
While the Queen often favoured a black Launer – similar to the one Camilla was seen carrying today – she switched it up from time to time, sometimes sporting a neutral or white version.
Camilla is also fan of the British handbag designer. She can often be spotted holding one during appearances, and even has the same bag in different colours.

Legend has it that the Queen had hundreds of Launer bags, but CEO Gerald Bodmer disagreed, estimating the figure to be much more modest, at around 15 or 16.
The Queen even visited the Launer factory, then in Hackney, East London, keen to understand how her favourite accessory was made. She even told Launer: ‘I don’t feel fully dressed without a bag.’
Her handbags were particularly important as she used them to send signals to her staff when meeting with high-profile guests.
It’s said that if the Queen the swapped her bag from one arm to another, she wanted her ladies in waiting to interrupt the conversation. And if she wanted to get out of the situation asap? She would place her bag all the way on the floor.
