Do you want to dress like a nepo baby? This vintage brand just might convince you

Nepo babies are ubiquitous – but would you want to dress like one? This vintage brand certainly thinks so

What does a nepo baby dress like? The answer, according to vintage label Remass, lies in its latest nepo baby-themed collection. The muses of the latest line are Kaia Gerber, the daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber; Lily-Rose Depp, the daughter of actor Johnny Depp and former Chanel muse Vanessa Paradis; and Amelia Gray, the daughter of actor Harry Hamlin and former Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna.

Inevitably, it’s packed with baby T-shirts, 00s-inspired mini skirts and fitted waistcoats; it’s a nostalgic fashion fever dream, which, according to Remass founder Danielle Mass, has been in the works for a while.

Amelia Gray Hamlin has become one of fashion’s favourite nepo babies of late.

After the success of a horoscope-inspired collection last year, where the brand curated collections inspired by the perceived aesthetics of each Zodiac chart and shared them with its 30,000 Instagram followers, Mass turned her attention to another themed line.

“We’d been planning a nepo baby collection for a while, just because so many of the most famous ones dress so well,” Mass tells Stylist. “The term nepo baby, though, has negative connotations, so we were nervous about it. But when the New York Magazine article went viral discussing nepo babies, we decided to just go for it.”

Lily-Rose Depp has been a Chanel muse and actor for years and inspired Remass’ nepo baby collection.

Next up from Remass is a follow-up nepo baby collection, which will launch later this month. The second collection will appeal to Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber fans, with Mass crediting the models as constant inspirations for her when she sources Remass’s pre-loved pieces from around the world.

“Nepo babies” is the term that has been assigned to any child of a celebrity who has become successful in Hollywood or other high-flying careers, partially (or completely) due to their high-profile parents’ reach.

Since establishing Remass on Depop in 2018, the brand has amassed a following of 114,000 and has sold upwards of 19,000 pieces. According to Depop, Remass is among the most successful secondhand brands on the platform.
