Everyone should try my Christmas tree trick – it'll get rid of loose needles, bugs, & leaves before you bring it inside | The Sun

A HOME decor fan has shared her simple trick to rid your Christmas tree of leaves and bugs.

The tip is a beneficial way to rid it of creepy crawlies before you bring it inside your home.

Mother and wife Tara (@justcallmehomegirl) is a DIYer who is "striving to create a beautiful and functional home."

In a TikTok video, she brought viewers outside to show how she rids a pine tree of insects before decorating it inside her house.

The content creator wrote in a subtitle that it gets rid of loose needles, bugs, leaves, and birds' nests.

She exhibited how she got rid of the small things you don’t want with a leaf blower.

As she blew with the tool, she reached inside the tree and pulled out a small bird's nest.

It's a great hack for outdoor enthusiasts and people who prefer a simple, natural life.

Tara added in the video caption that it also "Works on fake trees too to get rid of the dust!"

The comment section was filled with conflicting opinions.

"I wash my tree down with the water hose, but I may need to use the blower too! Great idea," a TikTok praised.

"Why don't you want the birds' nest? Free decoration," another jokingly added.

"Been doing this for decades," a viewer chimed in.

Many viewers were confused about why she would go the extra mile to do this.

"Don't chop Christmas tree, buy artificial instead or buy it with roots and plant it in your garden after Christmas," someone advised.

"Usually when you buy a tree, they get put in a shaker which would remove all of this," another wrote.
