IF you haven't heard the hype over the air fryer in the last year or so, then you must've been living under a rock.

But according to shoppers, there's a new energy-saving kitchen appliance in town – and it's making them ditch their ovens for good.

Andy Watters took to money-saving Facebook group and shared a snap of the £20 halogen oven he spotted during a recent trip to Farmfoods.

Alongside the image, he penned: "Farmfoods halogen oven in St Helens £19.99 for 17l.

"Not sure it’s too small for me so haven’t bought it yet."

Halogen air fryers help to save even more money than a traditional air fryer, by using less oil and even less energy.

So it's little surprise the post has racked up several likes and comments, with many full of praise for the bargain buy.

"You can cook most anything in these I've cooked joints and a small turkey in it turning once alas I don't have it anymore," wrote one.

"I have the same one – you have an extender to make it higher…I cook full roast chicken dinner in mine, haven't used my oven in over 9 months.

"Very good price….I think the original price was £100."

A third penned: "I have the same one with an extender. I haven't used my ordinary oven for quite a few years. I love my halogen oven."

Meanwhile, a fourth added: "Love mine. We got rid of our standard oven years ago in favour of this (Family of 7)."
