DESPITE her dad being one of the most famous faces on TV, Honey Ross kept a relatively low profile until three years ago.

A body positivity activist, the 26-year-old has gained a number of celeb pals since she revealed that her famous parents put her on "toxic diets" as a teen.

Honey is the youngest of TV presenter Jonathan Ross's three children and has made a name for herself as an activist, writer and advocate for body positivity.

Among her celeb pals are actress Daisy May Cooper, Made In Chelsea star Ashley James and comedian Katherine Ryan, who have been known to comment on her racy Instagram posts.

Her stardom has previously forced her to hit back at trolls bombarding her with "strange abusive fatphobia".

Here's the lowdown on Honey, who's stepping out of her famous father's shadow…

Childhood in the spotlight

The daughter of Jonathan, 62, and screenwriter Jane Goldman, 53, Honey was raised in North London with elder siblings Betty Kitten and Harvey Kirby.

Given the full name Honey Kinny, she admits she hated her body growing up – but has grown to love her curvy size 18 figure.

She spent her teen years doing internships in the film and TV industry and landed her first professional screenwriting gig aged 18, but says growing up in the public eye is far from a dream for an insecure kid.

Honey once told Dazed Digital:  “I truly hated myself growing up.

"I think it was a combination of that typical low-level teenage self-loathing, a myriad of mental health issues – some diagnosed, some not – and growing up in the public eye.

"It definitely doesn’t help your already wilted self-esteem to read hundreds of negative comments about yourself in the Daily Mail online.”

But she added she had "very supportive parents" in Jonathan and Jane.

Career highlights

Now 26-years-old, Honey has built herself a fanbase of 57,800 followers on Instagram – where she describes herself as a writer.

She's signed to London-based beauty PR, talent and events group The Tape Agency – who also represent the likes of Skins actress April Pearson, Laura Belbin of the Knee Deep in Life page and mum blogger Clemmie Telford.

Honey made her London Fashion Week debut back in February 2020, wearing a pink dress with the slogan "REAL" on it. She's also posed for lingerie brand Curvy Kate – but insists she's "not a model".

Posting on her Instagram stories in the past, she said: "I'm not a model! I'm a writer and an activist but I do love looking at myself. My preference is muse over model."

Honey is also an activist for Pink Protest, who campaign for changes in the law, which she co-founded with friends Scarlet Curtis, Grace Campbell and Alice Skinner.

In 2017, the government pledged £1.5 million to support period poverty in reaction to their #freeperiods campaign.

While in 2019, they successfully pushed a bill through parliament – to get FGM included in the Children's Act.

Fun in the sun

It's not all hard work for Honey who jets off on multiple holidays a year.

She's got more stamps on her passport than the average person, even spending Christmases in Florida and Turks and Caicos with her family.

So far this year, she has jetted off to Amsterdam, New York and on an exotic holiday with a yacht trip with her boyfriend Zane Saz.

Honey was praised for going braless in a see-through dress during her summer holiday.

She also enjoys a very different seaside life in Swanage, Dorset, where the Ross family have a holiday home.
